dexedrine not working, why?

I have lots of 5mg dexedrine caps (with the little orange beads inside) and I've tried crushing the beads and snorting them, and just taking the pills orally (about 20mg each time for both) and i've even tried eating a few and snorting a few at the same time. But I dont notice ANYTHING. i dont get buzzed at all. 20mg ritalin, 20mg adderall (even time realesed adds), and 20-56mg snorted concerta can keep me buzzing real good for a real long time. why not dexedrine? whats the deal?
 
You're Crazzzy. I have an abundance of 5mg dexedrine tablets and I love the little fuckers. Everyones preference is different, but I know far more people who like dextroamphetamine way better than any other stimulant/uppers like adderall or methylaphenidate/concerta. Personally I find that dexedrine is much more effecient... I need far less dexedrine to be speeding, and the body load I get isnt nearly as bad as I'd get with concerta or adderall. Maybe its because of the time release aspect that they arent effecting you.. try popping around 30 milligrams and you shhould be fine, and btw, its generally not a good idea to snort anything thats meant for time release.. just my 2cents
 
If you are taking any anxiety meds it will damper it. At least thats whats been happening to me.
 
shit droop. youre right. im taking celexa and wellbutrin and i knew those fuckers were ruining my highs. as of right now, I think my ritalin highs are far better than my adderall highs. I guess wellbutrin and celexa kill the adderall and dexedrine highs way more than my ritalin and concerta highs. this sucks, and i was so excited to score a bunch of dexedrine! damn it all!
 
Wellbutrin doesn't kill amp highs, in my opinion (which is an opinion because no one can give a definite answer) it increases the effects of stimulants.
 
I've taken 30 mgs of those 10 mgs dexies. crushed up all the beads, put the 3 capsules worth in an exenidrine capsule and I was buzzed for a hell of a long time.
 
hmm ..that is curious...
after looking at my concerta pills how in the world do you crush them with that thick plastic coating?
 
well it might have to do with the fact that they are time released... however i've snorted/orally taken dex a lot and i always got "speed" up from it, and i too believe that it is a lot better than any other upper... still, staying up for 5 days has it's dampers...
 
One of the reasons I prefer dexedrine is because of its short acting nature. Dexedrine is dextroamphetamine which is a shorter acting relative of adderall.. in this case i find small dosages hit me harder, and even with larger doses I find that if Im not going way overboard I can still usually find some sleep by 2am or maybe 3am whereas with adderall, taking 60mgs will keep me up all night. Know what I'm saying?? I also dont get as anxious and irratable on them like I would with concerta or adderall.

With concerta, there are three layers of gunk and you have to scrape off the outer two to get to the inner layer of methylphenidatey goodness. It's a bitch but works well according to most.
 
And then eat the stuff you scraped off, because it has the instant release in the outher coatings.

First of all, you posted a freaking image of where the active ingrediants in the medicine are. So I don't understand how you could not fucking get it.
Second of all, the outter coating is nothing more than GELATIN. It's not GELATIN + METHYLPHENIDATE. It's just GELATIN.

interesting..ive been on wellbutrin, clonazapam (clonapin), and rhisperdal all at the same tiem while recreationally taking dexedrine..didn't notice a difference ;\

First of all, you posted a freaking image of where the active ingrediants in the medicine are. So I don't understand how you could not fucking get it.
Second of all, the outter coating is nothing more than GELATIN. It's not GELATIN + METHYLPHENIDATE. It's just GELATIN.

Maybe you shouldnt be so snappy.. I'm not saying I'm definitly right about this but to my knowledge the outer shell does in fact contain METHYLPHENIDATE. Why? -Well when the child (or whoever) is administered the medication in the morning its going to take a hell of a long time for their stomach to eat through the waxy shell. Even the pink and white sections of the actual powder inside is very chunky and waxy. This is the reason why they created the outer instant-release gelatin coating. Its only a small percentage of the actual mg dose. If you still disagree then you shouldnt mind giving us a source.

Well, stefano you (and I) are definitly right about this. I like the way you use evidence and logic.
I don't know what's up with that other guy, but that's why the diagram includes "outer coat of medicine". In fact, it describes this in the product literature: "The first dose of medicine comes from the tablet's outer coat ".
In case anyone has gotten confused, the outer coating most certainly does contain methylphenidate.
 
I also know you guys are right, as I have gotten off on a collection of just the outer shells! I have been on these buggers for a while now, and I know for a fact that the outer coating contains methylphenidate. Peace.
