Hi all!

Im just wondering what I can do about reaching my optimal therapeutical dose of Dexamphetamine for my ADHD I have pretty severe adhd it's a mix of inattentive and hyperactive but mainly inattentive im 19

A bit about myself and my history of substance abuse I've abused ecstasy to ridiculous amount moved onto cocaine speed and everything in between then along came methamphetamine all the while this was happening I was selling so it led to large quantities of methamphetamine being a my disposal I quickly fell into a addiction with it using everyday ranging from a couple of points so a gram or a bit more I always wanted to get clean but fell back into the trap until I got busted by police which was probably one of the best things to happen to me it was a big eye opener and I checked myself into rehab slipped up a few times since then I've been having on going treatment from my addiction psychiatrist and have been almost 4months clean which im happy about!
My psych diagnosed me with ADHD after interviews with my parents and stuff trailed me on strattera non stimulant medication then concerta but had to many side effects now on Dexamphetamine 5mg tabs

My question is I've been prescribed x2 in the morning which I can change to x2 twice a day to then x2 three times a day in no way am I going abuse this great opportunity I've been given to help my ADHD im serious about my recovery and if I was going to use it certainly wouldn't be with my medication I'd get a nice bag of crystal

It just seems as my dosage is to low one morning I took 3 instead of two as my psych said I can play around with the dosage which did seem better but I don't know how I can say to my psych I need to up my dosage cause I took more then what you said without sounding like a junkie who was trying to get high..

What dosage would you recommend to help curb my ADHD with my substance abuse history and tolerance to amphetamines?

Sorry if it doesn't make sense it or it's too long!

say the dose helps but not as much as i expected this quote got my xanax dose upped "i dont know if this medication doesn't work on me or i am expecting too much out of it(act frustrated)". this got me off the klonopin which didnt give me a buzz but got me .5 xanax 3x a day. im 18 so it took alot of good acting skills. hope this helps and stay clean my friend. fucking doctors give 8 year olds addys but an 18 y/0 cant get a xanax script without having the acting skills of brad pitt. what has this world come to.

Im just scared she will take the script away from me!

Im almost certain 4x twice a day would be the perfect dose it's only 40mg and considering I have a larger tolerance to amphetamines I don't see why that would be a problem just scared to ask!

Thanks for the quick reply certainly helped and I will be staying clean!

The acting skills needed are beyond a joke to get medication we need upped as the dosage isn't enough to help! Hahaha acting skills of brad Pitt you funny fuck!

It just seems as if that doctors will prescribe potentially addictive medications to young kids more easily than adults. The truth is, you're almost asking for it and have wayyyy more potential to abuse pharms than a toddler. They also know all the things patients will say to get what they want.

If your doctor gives you a hard time with getting something, he's trying to prevent a patients life from potential financial, social, physical, and psychological ruin. Once you're deep enough that you realize there's no way out, you will understand why vigilant doctors are great, the problem is that we don't have enough like that, if anything.

I've known several people for years now, some who had careless doctors that prescribed opiates without question and others who were denied increases when they asked. It should be no surprise that the ones with careless doctors are now either dead, homeless, they lost their families, friends, career, and life savings, some lost (died/taken away) children for their addiction, became hopelessly addicted, some to multiple substances, some are spending lots of time in jail for sales or crimes they did while high or to support their drug intake needs, while never buying food or water, clothes, etc.

Those who had careful doctors ALL ended up living happy lives. Healthy kids and family, good marriage/relationship, plenty of assets and savings, great friends, less psychological issues, are able to travel, do fun things, and will live longer with little stress, more freedom as well.

I myself enjoy drugs, the feeling they give me, and playing dangerously close to addiction... I can't live normally. It's nice having money and friends but drugs just do it for me. I enjoy feeling sick from withdrawal, because when I finally pick up I can get that amazing feeling of absolute relief and joy. Like winning the lottery. I dont have any dependents though, no real responsibilities other than going to work and paying bills, and I also know to taper off or seek help when it begins to affect what I do have, where I can get clean, and then do it all again.

those who hate it but cant get out and lose everything, never feeling happy even when getting fucked up or whatever... I feel bad for those people. And the friends and family who stick around and share the suffering for addicts who dont care what they do to everyone. Don't get me wrong - I love the drugs doctors prescribe, but I would give them up without question if it would make them all disappear.

MMayb some day when you see something as jarring as an opiate addicted mother with track marks on her jugular, holding her month old child in her arms and nodding off, barely holding on... Maybe then you will change your mind and not hate the caring, responsible doctors.
