Hi all, ive been prescibed dexamphetamine for ADHD, 3 x 5mg tabs a day of which Ive found 2 tabs are sufficient for me.

could you boffins in ADD give me any info on this chemical, such the good and the bad?

also if theres any side effects, what could I do to lessen these?

thanks in advance

ive read that vitamin C interferes with dexamphetamine?

Also do any of you see a problem with me taking Curcumin, Omega 3 or vitamin B?

I ask because every 4-6 months I have a night of MDMA, this coming weekend myself and a few friends are partaking in some 6-apb and mxe, would any of these be affected by the above vitamins or the dexamphetamines?

Dexamphetamine (trade name Dexedrine) is the prototypical amphetamine. It's a dopamine and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor and releasing agent. Effects include heightened mood, concentration, energy, and general stimulation. Compare: ritalin/methylphenidate (just a releasing agent), methamphetamine (much stronger). Regular usage produces tolerance and rapidly lessens the effects experienced (tachyphylaxis). 5mg bid is a low dosage but that's a good thing.

It will cross tolerant with MDMA, APB, MDA, and MPA which are also amphetamines. Not so much with MXE which has a different mode of action.

Vitamin C acidifies the urine and blood and helps excretion of amphetamines of all sorts (MDMA, amphetamine etc). The other supplements are fine.

Side effects, especially at higher dosages, include mania, sleep deprivation, elevated blood pressure, anxiety, palpitations, possible psychosis. Look on Wikipedia or search the forum for more info.

Thanks for the info sekio, so taking vitamin c decreases the effect of dexamphetamine ?

Ill stop taking the vitamin C if it interferes with the dex, although Im a firm believer in the power of vitamin C

also would the dex have adverse reactions with aMT?

once again, thanks for the help

Vitamin C decreases adsorbtion and how long the dex stays around in your body.

aMT is a triple releasing agent, so yes, it would have a slight cross tolerance.

Take your vitamin C in the evening around dinner and it wont effect it. I have used Dexamp for along time. Urine Acidifying agents will make the AMP get excreted faster. Alkalizing agents will decrease the rate of excretion. It also increases total absorbtion, (drinking a glass of orange juice (acidic) for example around dose time could make the drug be absorbed slightly less and excreted faster resulting in less effect.)

If by AMT you mean alpha-methyltryptamine, I cant say for sure as its one of the few drugs I have little pharmacological knowledge of. If there's a drug combo you MUST know about it is never combine an MAOI with ANY drug unless you KNOW it is safe.

Best drug combo's in my opinion are
-D-AMP + Hydrocodone or oxycodone *best in my opinion*
-D-AMP + Small doses of Alprazolam
-Low dose D-AMP + cannabis + Alprazolam
-D-AMP + Nicotine (I didn't smoke cigarettes until using D-AMP)
*removed last combo as it is too dangerous for someone who doesn't REALLY know what they are doing*

Worst combo's
-D-AMP + Alcohol (feels dirty and doesn't mix well in my opinion)
-D-AMP + Cannabis alone (Overstimulating and adds to paranoia/anxiety)
-D-AMP + any Psychedelics (they don't flow well for me or most people at all)

If I were going to take a combo to get the best recreational effects I would take about double my normal daily dose of D-AMP + 12.5-20mg of EITHER Hydrocodone OR Oxydocodone. The effects I get from that are the stimulation and effects i've listed (normal amphetamine high) but the low dose opiate is slightly sedating, increases my social desire and ability MUCH greater than AMP alone. Euphoria level isn't super high but i would call it euphoric. ***always adjust your doses based upon YOUR body YOUR tolerance and previous experience. when in doubt, less is more***

Common side effects of D-AMP (in my experiences + research)
-Dry Mouth (keep a drink handy)
-Decreased/No appetite (make yourself eat healthy amounts of food)
-Headache (you should be able to figure that out)
-Rapid heart beat and or palpitations. (decreases somewhat as you become tolerant)

Less common but still prevalent (I get some of these, and there isn't alot that can be done about them without taking other drugs which is not advised or encouraged at all)
-Changes in sexual desire/ability
-Personality changes (less social or more social)
-Irritability/anger

To give you an example of what to expect at different dosages here is how I'd be effected. I am a Male, 150 pounds, tolerance to 70mg vyvanse taken daily. This dose still effects me however my body is used to it, so you may have much less tolerance to the effects as I do.
Easy way to think about it is, I have taken the equivalent of 30MG Adderall XR OR, 25MG Dexadrine XR daily for 4+ months.
**So MY doses are NOT the same as yours. I have tolerance to the drug, I may be able to handle 60mg fine, and you may become very sick with no tolerance to higher doses.**

~10mg XR (extended release)
-decreased fatigue
-slightly increase heart rate
-25-30% control

~20mg XR
-Decreased fatigue within 50-60 minutes (sleep to wake)
-slight-moderate increased HR
-lessening of desire to engage in social conversation (minimal)
-motivation to do less desirable tasks increased to noticeable level
-Dry mouth (not excessive but noticeable)
-50% ADD control.

~30mg XR **Effects I normally get from my daily dose**
-Decreased fatigue (awake from sleeping in 30-45 minutes)
-increased heart rate & mild palpitations
-Dry mouth (need a sip of water about every 15 min)
-Less desire to be social and more desire to complete tedious tasks*see below
-Mood changes (ranging from moderately irritable to slightly increased mood)
-Appetite suppression to the extent I may go 10 hours without any food easily
-Slight increase in sweating (not very noticeable)
-Mild jaw clenching
-75% ADD control

*skipping 40-50mg as effects blur together*

~60mg XR
-Fatigue has left the building (awake from sleep in ~40min)
-Heart rate is elevated (add about 35-45bpm to your sober heart rate) and palpitations are common
-Motivation to do tedious/unwanted tasks greatly increased
-Increased physical stamina & noticeable increased mobility
-Excessive dry mouth
-No appetite (eating more than a few bites of food that day would be unlikely)
-Mood Changes (increased mood, or decreased mood and irritability)
-Sexual ability from the time the drug begins to effect me until 8-10 hours later is greatly reduced
-Social pattern changes vary from extremely less social to greatly increased social ability and desire (depends on the day, current mood, and especially what other drugs I have taken)
-Increased sweating(not excessive but somewhat noticeable to myself atleast)
-Jaw clenching/tension (not excessive like X but noticeable)
-Possible crash (I'm one of the few who only gets very mild crashes from amp and 60mg would still give me at least a modest crash)
-ADD control 100% (may hyper focus)

Just the ramblings of myself on amphetamine, hopefully there was useful information in there.

since when is methylphenidate a releasing agent? its a reuptake inhibitor

Whoops, so it is. I don't know if there even exists such a thing as a straight releasing agent that doesn't touch reuptake.

Thanks guys, your all a wealth of knowledge.

One last question, tonight I plan on taking 50mgs of aMT which you have pointed out is a maoi, I've been taking curcumin in the morning which is also a maoi, is it safe to take the aMT?

Neither aMT nor curcumin are "serious" MAOIs. Compare them to phenelzine, tranylcypromine, isoniazid etc.

AMT is comparable to amphetamine in it's effect on MAO (mild). Curcumin is apparently not even absorbed so that's no problem

Little curcumin, when eaten, is absorbed:[39] from 2 to 10 grams of curcumin eaten alone resulted in undetectable to very low serum levels.[40] Curcumin is unstable in the gut,[41] and the traces that pass through the GI tract rapidly degrade or are conjugated through glucuronidation.
