Dexadrine question.

So I have a friend with a legit script for dexadrine 10 mg Spansules, but no insurance. To get it filled cost around $80 or so per month. My Q is why is there no generic form of dex? The shit has been around long enough, I would think that some manufacturer would have taken it up by now. Perhaps it has something to do with the time release mechanism.

your best bet is to have your friend give his doc a sob story about his poor income and no insurance. most doctors will perscribe you a generic brand assuming there is one.

That's just the thing...The script allows substitution, but there is no generic dex. Well, except maybe the 5 mg hearts. It doesn't really seem like there are any generic amphetamines. They are all name brand.

ok.. maybe I'm totally off the mark here, but isn't Dexedrine just a brandname for street speed (not meth - speed (benzedrine I think) )?. If so do the math and see if street speed works out cheaper and better than Dex.
And it might actually be safer to shoot speed as opposed to pill-form Dex.

The dexedrine spansules are quite new...which means that the pharm. co that produces them still has a patent allowing them to be the exclusive supplier. When that patent runs out in several years, any company can make generic version.

Isn't there another form of dextro-amphetamine that is available in generic? No time release of course, just the "regular" instant release ones? At least i read that on some ADD message board..?
I have a script for ritalin now, i have an appt. with my doc friday, i like ritalin, and it is cheap...the generic, but if there is no other better generic amphetamines i can try then i will probably stick with the ritalin since its cheap.

Spansules aren't that new. They are older than Adderall, and Barr Laboratories has already filed an application to produce 5, 10, 20, and 30 mg generic Adderalls. So Adderall and Dexedrine Spansules should both be available in generic at your local pharmacy this year.

Unfortunately I lost that deal when I moved. But I hear my students talking about how they use Ritalin/Adderall to stay up and study all the time. Here's a question for you all: would it be bad form to score from my students? Would you hook up your TA? LOL.

since legality is not an issue - I guess the answer to the question would be the same as the answer to "would it be bad form to sleep with your students?"
