Developed Cellulitis on Arm after IVing H - Need Advice!

Sorry i wasn't able to reply before, but i never got any infection symptoms at all, it never hurt, etc etc so i left it alone and kept a close eye and found that it was healing on its own. I'd say I'm extremely lucky. It'll leave a nasty scar when its fully healed, though.....

Glad to hear, ghostworld!!! There are a few threads here on BL on how to minimize scarring. My 'go to' remedy is a product called Mederma. Its expensive (maybe $25 a tube) but it works wonders.

A scarred arm is much better than no arm! I'm happy that you're okay!

Just hit the ER up you don't need insurance or money. This happened to me doing a shot in the foot once. But I have also gotten cellulitis 3 other times on my feet none IV related, just went in for it 5 days ago and still have the bruising from the swelling. Just go in they take some blood write some scripts for antibiotics and you are out the door. This last one was really bad so they rushed me to the back to an IV of antibiotics going.

I had impetigo somehow and I wasn't iving shit but my skin got fuuuckkked.

Mupirocin (bactroban) - topical antibiotic
Hydrocortisone/Clobetasol/Mometasone - various creams
Amoxicillin/Clavulanate - oral antibiotic
Hydroxyzine (Atarax) - Antihistamine/Anxiety - Helps reduce itch/irritation. Also it really just helps calm the anxiety over the rashes and sores, reduces the chances you'll pick at it

Edit : if for some reason you can't/won't see a Doctor I've seen all these meds available online. However, I honestly think you should just go see some Medical Professionals over all other options...
