Approximately 40 mg DET freebase, oral - should be threshold/low dose
Impure material, brown sticky tar...had to dissolve in ethanol to dose, forming a brown solution (~5 mL).

Ethanol solution added to a glass of beer and ingested.
t+15 min
Alert felt. No further development.
t+40-60 min
Building. Slight head-spaciness, mild visual clarity.
t+1-2 h
Main effects.
Worrisome physical disturbances reminiscent of a mild clonic seizure - muscle spasming in legs and arms, teeth clenching, coldness/clamminess in hands and feet, tachardia. Worked through the energy with breathwork and meditation - no panic, since by this point the substance had worked its way into the system and symptoms shouldn't worsen (if so, then time to worry!) In addition, similar physical symptoms were experienced on certain other tryptamines, to lesser extent (e.g. uncontrollable leg tremoring on 4-HO-DIPT). Still unsure the relative contributions of physical and mental/psychic to this phenomenon, as sometimes the tremoring could be lessened with meditation into a clearer headspace. Either way, this is something to be wary of in possible future trials. Other main physical effect was a pronounced impairment of fine motor control, similar to severe alcohol intoxication. A hollowness in the chest was noted, as well as a bizarre feeling of head disconnection/dissociation (body was present, but head and mind were not connected).
Visual disturbances were largely absent. Main effect was heightened clarity and aesthetic appreciation, and a tendency to focus on details. Nothing really special at this dose. Closed eye visuals were subtle and consisted of orange/brown flashes of light dots. Again, uninteresting at this dose.
Mental effects were a bit more interesting. With eyes open, a tendency for the mind to wander and race about freely, philosophizing. With eyes closed, a state of deep relaxation, easy to lose sense of the body. A stoning effect similar to oral THC was quite pleasant, but the physical symptoms mentioned above got in the way of full enjoyment. Music, like with oral THC, was deeply enthralling and expanded. An unbalanced euphoria, though slight.
t+2-3 h
Sudden drop off, trailing effects. Concomitant with disappearance of the negative physical symptoms. Very pleasant afterglow. Sleep was deep and easily achieved. Essentially baseline at t+3h.
Overall:
I'm not sure if this material is worth exploring further, given the disturbing physical side effects at such a low dosage. They may have been due to impurities in the material, so at least one more trial will be conducted in the future with purer material (should be colorless, waxy solid) to determine if the physical effects were indeed caused by DET. Pluses to this compound would be its extremely short duration and mildness of effects.
