Oh yeah, I had the same as dysthymicdiva, got manic from the first AD paroxetine after just a few days, which was then discontinued and eventually replaced with venlafaxine. This caused hypomania again, but in a "controllable" way without the psychotic hints (I felt like falling into couches and such) ... this wasn't bad for someone with severe social anxiety, but in retrospective absolutely not worth it. After some time, the hypomania went away and mood swings creeped up so slowly that nobody noticed it. Was put on additional carbamazepine for this then but couldn't stand the side effects.
These mood swings brought me two criminal records together with months of fearing to death of getting imprisoned (together with a retard fuck of a lawyer just telling me I had no rights as a mentally ill person and had to accept everything the attacker said even if it wasn't true....fuck them, really, they need to go through the same).
Was on venlafaxine for maybe two years - and the impulsivity still didn't go away another year and a half after discontinuing! I had an over-active mind before but now it is just a dysphoric, paranoid hell. NMDA antagonists, MXE beyond all, help me with that but they are illegal.
Sex drive - interestingly I never had erectile dysfunction from venlafaxine (but from just anything else serotonergic), but diminished sex drive-something I indeed appreciate, wish it would be gone forever as I am one of these sick retards for which girls care less than nothing (and life is just more objective without all this sexual shit), and less intense feelings of pleasure overall, which led to drug abuse. I'm more or less a heavy smoker now too, while I never found anything to smoking before. Also have sleep issues which don't go away with time.
Venlafaxine is a close cousin of the pain killer tramadol, and while initially they said it has no opioid activity left, the opinion on this has changed a bit and opioid receptors are now considered a secondary / downstream target of not only venlafaxine but also mirtazapine (on which I was too for months) and maybe others. Wonder if prolonged AD usage could have the same permanent effects as use of opioids?
I did many drugs and RCs but no one, by far, did so worse as prescription meds.
