Hi all,
Having a long term background with illegal and legal drugs of all descriptions, I believe I'm qualified to comment on the programme I've just watched on Ch 4 (UK) re: legal highs. I do not knock any persons perceived 'need' of substances, However, I feel that most of the individuals featured in this film have been contributory to the ban on the most interesting and useful chemicals to become available.
I have suffered from severe depression for 30+years and found solace in the research chemical community after many failed attempts at sobriety and having exhausted all other avenues, ie: GP's, Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Psychotherapists..
I used Rc's for around three years, in particular, 4MMC and Methoxetamine and found my life was greatly improved in respect of feeling comfortable, being able to communicate and getting things done on a day to day basis.
My usage was not chaotic, However, It was constant, I called it 'maintenance'. Consuming as little as I could to maintain my feeling of 'being'.(1gram=2/3 weeks)
Anyway.. Skip two years after the ban of Methox. and three + years after mephedrone, I am back to square one. Severely depressed, Drinking 8+ cans of lager every day and feeling kind of pissed off that those who want to get high have wrecked it for those who just want to feel 'normal'
Rant over! For now...
