Depression after single opiate use.... what's going on

To make this short.... every single time I use any opiates/ opioids, I feel depressed, lethargic, and just blahhhh for about 3 days after use. This happens everytime... no matter eating a 30 or banging dope, the depression is always there to follow the following few days. There is no way in hell I am dependent or near dependent as I use twice a month max, so yea.... thinking about saying goodbye to this class of drug, even though it seemed so perfect in the beginning, much like every new drug you try lol...but anyways... what would explain the depression after single opiate use? Anyone know what I am talking about?

Whatever goes up must come down. There is a give and take with drugs that is very apparent if your using drugs and don't have an addiction to cloud your judgement.

I totally agree... I am a very scientific person and know for ever action there is an equal and opposite reaction, (even though the reaction (depression) is wayyy longer lasting than the high), but still, I never see anyone talk about this, or see it mentioned in forums or anything.... everyone knows you're going going to be depressed and feel like shit after a coke or meth binge, but nobody really acknowledges the shitty feeling after indulging in opiates....aside from if they are physically addicted....

While your high your problems seem to go away but it always seems like things are worse when you come down. Don't know if that's because people forget their problems while high

For some odd reason I don't get depressed whenever I ingest opiates. The typical thing for me is take take around 80-90mg of oxycodone in a night, stay up all night, and be productive as fuck the next day with the aid of coffee (weekend warrior type shit lol) however, I see where you are coming from. It can be depressing once you return to full possession of your faculties.

It's really hard to say. Drugs effect everyone so differently and there are an unlimited amount of side-effects from them in different persons.

I get that when I take a benzo- depressed for ~2 days after. So i no longer touch them at all unless it's utmost necessary.

Are you depressed before taking the opiate? It is very strange that this happens to you.

Maybe you have a under-lineing depression but don't notice it and opiates just trigger it to come back to you even stronger. Who knows, but if you don't like it, keep away from them as best you can. Even sticking to once or twice month could be super bad-news for you.

Just sounds like a comedown to me..

Oxy always gave me a bad comedown if I took it too early in the day...by supper time i'd be mean as a snake..

That's why I like to take opiates in the evening so I get good sleep off the comedown instead of anger and depression lol.

There is pretty much no way you've got a habit from using anything only 2x a month. Unless you are somehow extremely prone to opiate addiction.
