Is anyone aware of any contraindications between depakote (used to treat manic depression) and the use of marijuana? Can it interfere with the action of the depakote? .... thats the bullshit there telling me.

I have smoked marijuana on depakote MANY times, with no bad reaction. Depakote does not affect the metabolism of THC, and vice versa.
Smoking marijuana may worsen the state of manic depression, but if it doesnt for you, then keep smoking it. Doctors talk alot of shit.....

Marijuana and depakote (valproic acid) can be safely combined.
However, if you suffer from bipolar/manic depression, which you seem to imply in your post, then you should realize that weed is one of THE WORST recreational drugs for bipolar people. For more information, I suggest you do a search for "weed" and "bipolar" in the Health Q&A archive.

eh, im not bipolar, i just loose my temper with my parents and i end up on meds... i've been on anti-depressants (prozac, zoloft, paxil, etc), add med's (ritilin, etc.), ..... i personally dont think i have a problem...maybe a anger management problem with authority.
