Deja Vu
Snakes, spiders and flower petals,
Sitting in the afternoon sun,
Fermenting forgiveness, and
tying a knot that cannot
be undone.
Solace in suicide,
Remedy in liquor,
I paint with oils,
On the canvas of reality,
Scrawling my initials,
Across it's beauty,
Tainting the magic,
Spoiling the show.
What a shame,
what a shame.
Fickle footed fairies,
that hide at the bottom
of my garden.
They break bread with
the snakes, and the spiders
and the flower petals.
I falter in illusion,
dismayed at the vast
and well pointless plot,
the tired actor
slipping in and out
of character.
Blame the moon,
or the polar bears.
The answers lie with
them, buried beneath
icebergs and seal carcasses.
We have been here before.
