Defeating withdrawal with short term Suboxone usage

My biggest obstacle in beating my heroin habit is the fear of withdrawal. I've gone through it before and the reason I continue to use is so I don't feel sick. I'm not sure if this will work, but I'm sure that the knowledge gathered here will be able to answer my question... Is it possible to only take suboxone for the amount of time that I would suffer withdrawal symptoms, maybe a week, and then end the suboxone without feeling withdrawal from that?
I've heard that Suboxone withdrawal is worse than the H. I just don't know what to do. I want to put an end to things, and I know I can, I just don't want to feel sick because I have no spare time to take off and deal with the withdrawal.

I have done short treatments to avoid withdrawals with great success. Although I did NOT do it to treat heroin withdrawal, I did it to defeat a heave hydrocodone abuse . I was taking 60-100mg of hydrocodone daily. The doctor started me off with about 10mg of sub, then had me take 8mg for 3 days, then on the fourth day he had me take 16mg, and then stop altogether. The super long halflife of the sub totally prevented me from feeling any ill effects from the hydrocodone at all. It felt like a miracle to me. (this was before I took sub long term.) In short, it worked great, I didn't have to miss a minute of work. The problem was, my mind told me "WELL HEY I CAN GET STRUNG OUT ON PAIN PILLS ANY TIME I WANT NOW SINCE I CAN GET OFF OF THEM NO PROBLEM!" which I proceeded to do several more times, and then my sub doctor told me I needed to go on maintenance long term. THAT was the mistake. BIG mistake.
I realize that heroin withdrawal is much more intense than hydrocodone w/d - depending on how much you have used and for how long, but I can say it is possible to do what you are asking. You need to see a doctor about it, don;t try to do it yourself. And whatever you do, do NOT let the doctor convince you to take sub long term. Good luck !
