Gonna be trying a hit of lsd soon and i need some tips on how to decrease the effects a little. I know 1 hit is a pretty small dose but last time i did 1 hit i had a pretty bad trip.

I know i could just take half the hit but i think that might make the trip to weak. I was wondering about just letting the tab dissolve under my tongue for less time, would this make the effects less strong, say about just 10-20 minutes compared to 40-60m (my usual time)

If you guys have any other suggestions on making the trip less intense please let me know.

BTW, what prefix does this go in??

this would be suited for psychedelic drugs.

if you're worried about a bad trip you might want to invest in some benzos, they work WONDERS. the hardest part about avoiding a bad trip is to just go with the flow. since the sensations are so new, incredible, and often surprisingly frightening, it can be hard to just sit back and let them all rush past with hardly a moment's time to absorb their beauty.

If you want a smaller dose, take a smaller dose. Swallowing the tab early so it's less effective is just a waste. Why would you think taking less to begin with might make it too weak, but not think the same thing would happen with your method? Your method is basically the same as taking a smaller dose, except you can't be sure how much smaller it actually is an the unused portion is wasted instead of being saved for next time.

What was bad about your previous experience? Unless they were extraordinarily potent hits, a single hit is almost certainly a pretty low dose; if even that dose was 'too intense' and not enjoyable, I don't know if you're gonna have much luck reducing the dose even further. Tripping can be a scary and intimidating experience. If it was just a bit overwhelming your first time, well, that's why people take acid! If you had some specific negative experience, maybe we can help you avoid that problem next time.

Psychedelics aren't like most drugs, where if the experience is too intense for you you can just reduce the dose until you find your 'sweet spot.' Below a certain dose you don't really trip at all, and above that dose the intensity can vary dramatically and has at least as much to do with your mental state as it does with the size of your dose. Taking really high doses certainly increases the risk of a difficult experience, but taking really *low* doses doesn't really work to avoid that risk; if you take enough to trip, then things will probably get pretty intense. I suspect you'll have much better luck trying to work through whatever issues you had last time so you can open yourself up to fully enjoy the experience, as opposed to trying to 'solve' the issue by changing your dose.

ok thanks for the answers i guess ill just take half a hit, sounds good.
and by the way, where is the psychedelic drugs prefix thingy?

Alcohol isn't particularly effective IME. It dulls the trip more than one would like if you take enough to effect the anxiety. A benzo is FAR better. Also, save the benzo until you decide you need it - cause you might not, and then you just put it in the benzo bin to use next time you need a benzo. Benzos are a very useful drug type to have (probably the most useful utility drug to have, especially if you like stimulants or psychedelics).

if you have anxietys before hand you probably arent in the right mindset to trip anyway..wait till you really feel comfortable but have some on hand i guess..

Eat half, send the other half to me

I live at 123 Fake St, NY 10001.

Or at least, that's where I live according to most online databases

I'm not sure what the OP wants is to weaken the trip, it sounds like he want's to reduce the anxiety that can lead to a bad trip...

Anxiety, fear, and unresolved internal issues are what lead to bad trips, not so much the strength of the experience. You should not trip if you're worried about something, or if there's some aspect of your life that has been bothering you (if you want to avoid difficult experiences and/or are prone to terrible bad trips - there are many people who've had valuable insights into issues while tripping, but that's often a "difficult" experience at the time).

Thinking u are going to have a bad trip is a recipe for disaster. Don't trip if u are thinking that way. Instead trip when u want to have a good time.

Thanks for the tips guys. I guess ill just trip when im less anxious and feel more sure about it, probably the safest way to go.
