Debating on whether or not to try ecstasy

MDMA was the first "actual" drug I've done. My friend told me that once I experienced it I would realize pot isn't really a drug. He was dead on. After my first roll I had a short term love for the effects that you might call a mental addiction. I definetly wanted to do it again, but I knew that I could mess myself up if I did it to frequently. I have a decent capacity for mental addiction, and I was able to wait.

For a few days all I could think about was how awesome the experience was, but later I cooled down and now there's no problem. I think you'll be alright as long as you don't have a severely addictive personality.

sure mdma feels great as hell but at the same time its not something you can do everyday, it doesnt even work for alot of people the day after,
hell at the end of my E days id have to take a big dose, id be rolling for an hour, and then no way to get back up

althoguh i knew people who were doing it everyday, i didn't understand

lol, how is pot not a real drug, with correct smoking methods you can get more fucked up on weed, sure its not nearly as euphoric but its still real drug, jsut like alcohol is

That was really badly phrased lol It's just that I've always seen it as an herb rather than a drug. I guess what I really meant to say is that pot is a drug unlike a lot of other drugs because the effects are less intense, And yeah with a good bong or vaporizer you can get crazy faded

Agreed - it's something only you can answer. That being said, I feel like using MDMA has made me appreciate the maintenance, ie., taking breaks in between, being healthy about it, taking vitamin supplements.. because I want each time to be awesome.

MDMA is certainly not addictive physiologically, and it's not like other substances I tried (like coke) where you feel you absolutely need it that very minute. If you're worried about a mental addiction, then you have to do some serious reflection to see if it's worth it, or if you'd be able to pace yourself and keep it cool.

If your only concern is getting addicted.. then you got nothing to worry about. Most people, including me (who has been and still is mentally addicted to pot) got no desire to do MDMA again after a night of use..
Dont get me wrong, you will want to do it again.. but not like right away. This is because the experience is so amazing and exhausting at the same time... you don't want to go straight back. Trust me on that.
When you are coming down, smoke A LOT of weed... good weed WILL get you back up and rolling again, at least it does for me. Take a hit.. and BAM you are pretty much rolling again.. good MDMA + good weed = perfection

if you keep it 60 days AT LEAST apart, you're gonna have an awesome time, its worth it

also remember even if you have familiy history of addiction, DONT use that as an excuse. You're a human being with your own will and you are gonna have to use that will... dont say "I cant do drugs because my brother is addicted to crack". Its ALL up to what you decide to do, right?

Serotonin desensitization, short term memory problems, depression, lasting anxiety, depersonalization, and other long lasting mental health issue have all been brought about by heavy MDMA use.

If you wish to do more reading on that subject, there are PLENTY of threads around here by users stating the kinds of symptoms they are dealing with.

^ This thread is a few years old people... I don't think the OP needs any more advice lol :\

Thanks.

I read some wiki entries and there are conflicting studies on that: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MDMA

I did so much E in the 90's I'm surprised I dont have Parkinson's right now...LOL. I think whether you have after-effects later in life really depends on the person, just like how some people react different to opiate withdrawals

Here's the weird part, I almost feel like I'm happier in later life having gone through my XTC phase in the mid-1990's.

Kinda like an epiphany of some sort. It definitely opened me up

Lucky you.
You are probably happy because you don't have to go through those dreaded come downs anymore that last so long.

Correction brought on by even moderate use. Because moderate use on this site is 1 month for some people , which will lead to negative side effects.
+ i have seen all those things you listed happen to people after a few life time rolls. So it is fair to warn people that it can and will happen even with moderate use, not just heavy abuse.

I would really like to hear from the OP again since he is the one who brought up this old thread.. He said that 3 years later he should not have tried it.. I would like to hear what has gone on in the last three years related to this.. If nothing else maybe it will help someone else in the long run :)
