I know there is the rule about not posting anything about drug sales and the like. I get it, I understand why this is a rule. This is a site that promoted safe drug practices, harm reduction the works. You guys don't want to be viewed as a a site that helps people access drugs. But part of me sorta sees, that Ina way, people connecting and sharing where to get drugs Ina certain areas, safely, is a long the lines of harm reduction. Obviously "look for where junkies are congregating, ask them, usually the spot isnt to far" is pointing someone In the right direction, but I know from experience that walking into a trap, just cos you know that's where it's at, while not being a regular crusty, can be pretty dangerous. Asking around for someone to make a run for ya can even add a element of danger. But if there was a page or site for people to get a hold of what they need, safely, would reduce potential harm. I know that sounds good on paper and there's a bunch of variables to consider but I'm sure theres a system that could be set up Ina a way that helped those in need and was at least semi legal and would be be beneficial. im sure there's a million reason this wouldn't work, it's just a thought that crossed my head and was trying to get some feedback.

bluelight is run, almost entirely, by volunteers and we simply don't have the resources to track and manage the legal status of advice we're hosting across every geography. there are substances which are quite legal in some places which are quite illegal in others.
so we've made the simple decision to mitigate any confusion and risk by disallowing discussion of sourcing across the board.
we are here to help people use drugs safely.
we are not here to help people obtain drugs. at all.

Yes this rule is not something we can change.
But I understand your thinking.
In an ideal world, without drug prohibition, the biggest harm reduction is safer supply. Unfortunately we don’t live in that world!
