This is an outreach to those struggling through withdrawal and addiction! I'm not sure if this is in the right part of the forum but here it goes. It is worth it. Stay strong. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I know it's early in my recovery but cravings aren't as bad as I thought and I'm starting to feel life again. If I can do this you can do this. All you need is support. Whether it's friends, family, or strangers on the net. We're all a family and have fought/are fighting the same battles. It feels so good to not be SICK. Life is getting good. If you need anyone to talk to, or want to support me through I am here. You can message me or post here. This forum has helped me through hell and I am willing to return the favor. Much love!

Welcome to Bluelight/Sober Living Burnthefleet! :)

I'm happy to hear you are starting to feel better already at day 6! What are you withdrawing from and how long have you been using, if you don't mind me asking?

Thank you. I was dosing about 5 7.5(40mg) of oxy codone a day...sometimes more. I had my wisdom teeth removed 2 years ago. Ever since that day it was like clockwork hit or miss a day every month. I'm over the hump and have a very positive outlook now and the cravings are nothing for me as of now. I would love to offer support like the support that was offered to me on these forums. Thanks for the reply :)

That's great man keep it up! :)

Be aware that cravings can take some time to hit you - so just be prepared for the possibility that in a few days or weeks even you might start getting obsessed with the idea of using. Always remember that the craving will pass if/when this happens - and one of the best ways to get rid of one is to just sleep it off. Either stay sober and sleep, or relapse and sleep - either way the craving is gone when you wake up so you may as well stay sober and fall asleep when it happens. ;)

I've been staying busy constantly. Luckily I play guitar so that helps occupy the mind. Plus I gave my best friend the duty of being my "sponsor" so I'll consult him if I feel the urge. Good advice though. Thank you!

That's great that you have a support system in place for if/when things get difficult. Be aware that just as many people relapse when things are great as when things are bad, by the way. If you ever decide to use as a "reward" for yourself for something you've accomplished, try to remind yourself that using will actually probably make you lose whatever it was you think you are rewarding yourself for doing. ;)
