I have ZERO desire to eat anything. I'm on 5 hour energy's, coffee for two days except hot dogs last night for dinner. Any thoughts or suggestions? I just do not seem to have any desire to eat at all. Anyone else experience this when they kicked? I'm on my 3rd day. Taking Clonidine. Helps immensely. On Lexapro as well. Oh and Gatoraid.

eatING IS OVERATED.. compared to getn clean.. yeah.. I didnt like eating for a while.. dont worry when you make it out, and you will.. all you may want to do is eat<3 to keep your strength up, consider a nutritional shake, slim fast or something better. YOU are almost there!!! Do you have anything in place for support as you will have a much greater chance of staying clean if you do.. dont want to do this shit again, EVER rite? NICE WORK.. what are you coming off of?

HEY AND WELCOME TO BL!!<3 NICE WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bananas, soup..like the broth and nothing else or just instant rice in it, apples with peanut butter, etc. Yeah first few days were hard to eat but you need to work on getting better nutrition to cleanse your body of the toxins. Try to avoid caffiene unless you really need it. Post opiate detox for me was always full of anxiety. Caffiene just heightens that. Best way to get back to normal, eat right n exercise:-) congrats on three days.

That's awesome. It's really much better than ever before. Thinking the Clonidine has a good share of the help with that. I was doing CWE's of Norco at 4 grams a day. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and an evening movie movie. I'm finding the lack of energy is what's driving me the most crazy. Four months worth of that shit ending at a month of CWE'ing 4 grams of norco a day. This the 5 hour energy's and coffee. Gatoraid to stay hydrated or try. Oh and I forgot earlier Immodium AD as well. Trying that on my old Norco schedule. 4 of the 2mg pills four times a day.

I've lurked here for MONTHS. Sort of to blame for having learned of CWE process. Very supportive regardless. Great site.

The first two weeks or so after kicking bupe, it felt like my stomach had shrank to a tenth of its normal size. A sip of water felt like a whole glass, and anything more solid than yogurt felt like swallowing a mouthful of gravel... Just smelling food made me gag, it was horrible, lol...

Some kind of nutritional shake like Ensure or something will at least get some nutrients in you.
The more bland and light on the stomach, the less likely it'll come back up. :P

The Gatorade's good though, you definitely want to hydrate without upsetting your electrolyte balance.

EDIT: As for the lope, you might wanna cut back on that significantly... Trust me, you don't need that much, and it's only going to prolong the w/d's. My biggest mistake was to keep taking it after the acute phase was over...

It's normal unfortunately - oddly enough I had even more trouble eating once the acute phase was over and PAWS hit, just because I was so ridiculously depressed. I think the best advice I can give is do what you can - most important thing is to remember to DRINK DRINK DRINK (ALL the time, as much as you physically can), and then easy stuff to digest like soups and stuff. If you've got anyone around you who knows what you're going through it might be good to tell them about it and have a human reminder. Good luck <3

With lopermide i usually take 8mg's at first then 4-6mg's (depending on the severity of withdrawals) a few times a day. It never prolonged withdrawals for me but everyone is different. Usually after 4-5 days i don't need the lope unless i have a really bad habit. Taking too much if it even during withdrawal can cause pretty bad constipation i find which is never pleasant.

I stock up on Gatorade, soup, yogurt, anti-nausea meds like dimenhydrinate (or better yet a strong prescription one), a anti-histamine like diphenhydramine or hydroxyzine if i can get that , buscopan which is hyoscine butylbromide a anti-spasmodic available OTC in some countries as stomach cramps are the worst physical symptom i get by far and also Cannabis and preferably a indica strain as it helps with the nausea, increases appetite and helps the depression and mood swings. I normally can't eat anything but soup, yogurt or other light stuff for atleast 7 days after stopping morphine but with good Cannabis i can usually manage to eat something decent once a day anyway once i get through the first 3 days or so. But if you don't react well to Cannabis i wouldn't recommend using it. Between all that stuff i can make it through withdrawals alot easier. The thing to remember is everyone reacts differently and get's certain symptoms more severe then others so certain drugs help certain people more then others when it comes to withdrawals.

As for the loss of appetite try and atleast get some soup in you and i would suggest using a meal replacement drink as well with all the vitamins in it. I also get the flavored vitamin drinks because not only are they good for you they are also yummy :)

Good luck on getting clean. The worst of it is over anyway in terms of the acute symptoms.

Weed is used to stimulate the appetite in other patients who won't eat and it's very effective.

Plenty of water and juice with vitamin and mineral supplements. Try those Innocent smoothies that come in bottles or cartons; you don't need a lot because they're absolutely full of sugar and made of nice, yummy fruit.
Imodium (loperamide) will help, a little bit, and really eating might seem like a huge hassle when you just don't feel any way about it—food just doesn't interest you and can even make you feel very uncomfortable and potentially nauseous despite having not eaten. Basically: force yourself. Maybe get some crisps or sweets or anything that has precious fats and sugars that you need without taking up much space or requiring much effort.

If you don't eat for long enough, you're going to feel even worse: no energy, no sleep, strange noises and hallucinations, etc. It's really very difficult to conduct a life, particularly if you've a job or need to interact with people often, whilst undergoing withdrawal. Still, I'm sure that you'll be able to get through it. Just try to relax whenever you can, for sleeping is not going to be easy.

Force yourself to eat. Hell, drink chocolate milk if you have to or eat jam straight from the jar...

Hi everyone, I'm new to this site (as a poster) but have been on here daily looking at threads people have posted in the past. I'm on day 5 of a 120-160mg oxy habit without the use of anything but vitamins and glucosamine. The only thing I can say to you enemeyof1 is to defiantly try to get some kind of Caloric intake into your body. It dosnt feel good when ur forcing yourself to eat but you will feel better once you do. And I've found that a ton of energy drinks and suger will increase that anxiety feeling we all know to well, along with making sleepless night that much harder to overcome. I'm right there with you fighting this demon for the last time. This site has been amazing to me due to not being able to tell loved one I have relaped over a year ago and couldn't find the strength to overcome it again. The people on here are a great support group from what I have read in the past. Just keep truckin and try to get somthing like a milkshake or protein bar down. Your not alone, and someday we can be the sober people on this site helping others like we where helped in this seemingly endless fight against this common enemy. Good luck to you, stay strong.

I just wanted to say congratulations and I wish you continued success. It will not be an easy road to stay sober, I'd be lying if I said otherwise, however the fact is you saw it and took the right path! Continue maintaining the bodily function that are out of wack right now and you will be better in no time! Take your time with the food, excessive drinking is completely normal.

Vitamins and milkshakes is all I was into when I quit and I'm on month 3. Congrats on your number three :) keep going once you see the world through clean eyes everything will be much Better. Once that sickness is over with idk who would be crazy enough to go back sheesh!

WE here at BL wish you the best but we do not allow discussion on drug testing.. Please read the BLUA >here< before you post anymore so you will be aware of the rules that we follow on BL. Since you are in the legal system I would pursue the most reliable way to pass a drug test.. get clean so you will have no drugs in your system.. there are allot of resources and support here on BL to find a way to get clean and a lot more dealing with the harder part of staying clean.. Welcome to BL!!

Bananas are a must. Def help with the RLS if you are still experiencing that. H2O, Gatorade - keep hydrated even if you have no energy to get up and go the fridge. Im surprised you're drinking so much caffeine. That makes my wds worse. Makes me very anxious and too alert. Ensure is a must. You have to keep something in your body. It helps to eat even though nothing looks, smells, or tastes good. When I have wds I find that food is the last thing on my mind even if my stomach is growling. I find it very hard to eat or want to eat without putting any opiates in my body first. I try to nibble on a lil something just to get some food in my body. I'm sure you have no energy to cook so that Ensure will help if you can choke it down. Oodles of Noodles. Simple. Full of sodium, not nutritious but it will keep something in your stomach.

Do you have somebody around that can help you out during these next few weeks? Anybody that can help you to put food in your body, clean up your house a bit, or force you to take hot showers/baths is a blessing. Also, being able to talk to somebody or somebodies during this time is important. Have to get to the cause of why you were using in the first place. Well, besides getting high you know?

You are doing great. I know you feel like shit and it seems like this will never end, but it will. You will come out on the other side I'm sure of it. It sounds like this is what you want. That's always a good thing to be doing it out of your own free will, not forced. Oh yeah -- I almost forgot -- try to get some sleep and also get some exercise. You're basically kicking this poison out of your body (next will be out of your mind) so the more you sweat, eat, and sleep - the better you will feel. More power to you <3
