Day 12 suboxone/ day 5 hydro WD

Greetings all, first post here... Joined just to get some feedback.

So yeah, I am on day 12 of sub and day 5 hydrocodone WD. I used the otherwise useless hydro to ease myself off of the lOnger acting bupe WD.

Seemed to somewhat work but the last 4 days have been quite shitty. I work in a damn freezer warehouse and CANNOT go into work like this so am about to lose a pretty decent job because of the pit I have dug myself (again).

Today seems to be better though and I think I am almost through the physical part besides the diarrhea. Still don't have my drive/motivation back, though...

And that's my question- how long before I am motivated to do what need/want to do again?! I think that's the worst part. When I have my dope I have that extra drive to go bust ass at work, do the house cleaning/repairs, and still be functional when it comes to spending time with my wife and child.

I really need that drive back... ASAP.

I am a health nut so have been force feeding myself health proteins, carbs, fats, omegas, vitamins, the works and it did seem to speed the physical WD although they're not quite completely gone.

I do have access to some pretty good test. enanthate and possibly some IGF-1. I am in my mid twenties. Would this be a good route to getting my drive back? I have used anabolics before but made all the gains I wanted and stopped so I do have experience usIng them. Haven't had the drive to do the insane workouts I normally do but the light workouts do seem to be helping.

Also... Any other tips to get this ape off my back would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Hopefully it's ok to bump after post goes to page 2 in the forum..

But yeah, feeling MUCH MUCH better after hitting the two week mark off suboxone. My stools are finally turning solid and it doesn't hurt to move anymore.

Somewhat got a little drive/motivation back solely because my knees and back and calves aren't throbbing any longer.

However, still don't have that motivation to go about things with vigor like I used to with dope or even before I started abusing opiates.

For example I am an avid gardener. When i had opiates, it was so much more fun and interesting to do my gardening. Since these wds started, my awesome wife has taken the reins up until the last two days.

However, even though I have taken control back of the garden tending, it feels like something I am forcing myself to do vs. something I enjoy doing.

About how long does it take to get back that zest for life?

Also, does anyone know what opiate abuse does to hormone levels in males? Specifically testosterone and hgh?

Would supervised therapy speed up the healing of the damaged transmitters and receptors?

You're suffering from typical PAWS - Post Acute Withdrawal Syndrome.

Regarding getting back your motivation faster, a good therapy and lots of exercise may help, however, generally PAWS lasts for a few months after getting clean, while the actual duration depends on the individual. Some feel fine again after just a month, for others the healing process can drag on for half a year. The severity of the condition also depends on how long you've been addicted.

I'm no doctor, but I'm pretty sure testosterone levels fall when taking opiates daily, not sure about hgh. Maybe you should bring it up the next time you see a physician? Alternatively, scour the Internet for information and then go see a doc, in case you won't or can't admit being a former addict who has just gotten clean and wants his drive back. There should be other causes you can cite as reasons for lack of motivation.

But still, I'm afraid you'll have to be patient, eventually the PAWS will have run its course and you'll feel normal again. Only giving it time is what worked for others suffering after cleaning up. Still, I guess giving exercise, therapy and, if confirmed by a doc, hormone supplements a try can only hasten the healing process, at least the first two can't hurt imho.

Hope this helps a little, even if you don't do anything, eventually you'll be your old self again.

I'm glad to hear you're on the up-and-up, FrerB :) this is always heartening news!

As an aside, these types of withdrawal/taper discussions are better suited for the Other Drugs and/or Basic Drug Discussion focus forums.

Accordingly, I'm going to relocate your thread to BDD.

Take care! :)
