i was so sad to hear of the passing, today, of david lynch.

i've been a fan of his for a long time. some of his stuff is really out there and some of it is just batshit crazy. but it's undoubtedly thought-provoking, challenging and frequently beautiful.

back in 1990, i was living in london and twin peaks aired on tuesday nights. long before streaming and binging, i was in front of my tv every tuesday night to catch the next episode of that incredible show.

i also love wild at heart and the elephant man.

rest in peace.

Mulholland Drive might not be my favorite movie of his but it will always hold a special place for me. A surreal ride into a specific time and place that gives very little to hang onto as it washes over you. The man understood the bizarre undercurrent of the states, from california to small town america, in a way that few do or could express. He, and his oddball projects, will be sorely missed.
