darvon injected?

according to an opioid faq on erowid, the following is noted for darvon:
"IV use is reported to give rush similar to heroin"

can anybody confirm or deny this? yea yea, i know it sounds like bullshit (darvon is weaker than codeine) but somebody must've tried this.

I dunno about injection.
But until recently I had given up on "Darvocet" as another "pseudo weak ass opiod" like tramadol or some other weak agonist/antagonist.

I have used large doses of fentanyl, oxycodone, morphine, hydrocodone/morphone, so u can imagine, i am not "Opiate niave" in any way.


I popped 650mg over the period of an hour and a half, about 2 1/2 hours into it I had a strange nod, not a dreamy euphoric morphine nod but a sluggish slow breathing, no dream heavy nod for like 2 hours, my breathing was really slow.

I remember a junky buddy saying his friend had a huge smack tolerence, quick for like 2 weeks, then took like 5 darvocets and died!

so I dunno, a weird drug to me, doesn't really feel real opiatish........

I wouldn't inject propoxyphene if you paid me. It IS a shitty opioid. Far shittier than tramadol. In fact, I'd say it's the WORST, shittiest, weakest opioid.

Yeah, it is a pretty weak painkiller if you ask me. I snorted one once and holy shit did it burn, probably worse than a benzo. I did get a little buzz though, but definitely not worth the suffering my nose went through. As for injecting it, if it felt that shitty going up my nose I'm assuming nothing too great would come out of shooting it up.

I've heard about people injecting Dolotard (dextropropoxyphene hydrochloride), and apparently it's not that bad. You can't inject the napsylate salt however, as it isn't watersoluable.

I don't know... I did read this on usenet, however:

Don't freaking do it! It will absolutely WRECK your viens! I swear, you will
never be able to hit yourself in that spot again. Eat them until you get

I seriously regret EVER banging darvon. I just can't tell you the physical,
almost caustic action it has. Also, it feels like someone is hitting you in
the chest with a hammer when it hits your heart. I kid you not, don't do this
to yourself. This is one of the things that should NOT be injected 'just

This is true. Dolotard was banned here in Sweden because it was widely abused and yes, it will kill your veins.

I'm gonna pop 4 of these things right now and see where that takes me, most likely not very far. Never again will that shit touch my nostrils though, or veins for that matter. Your nose will be fucked for a couple of days if you decide to rail these things.

The Hydrochloride version is more potent than the Napsylate even orally.

I took dextropropoxyhene pills because it was my last resort. I ran out of other stronger opiates. Like I said, I will only take it if I really was deperate.

But it is shitty. More shittier than codeine, and Im not even a big codeine fan either.
