So does Darvocet really do anything? My friend and I snorted two and I popped one more n they didn't do shit.

Um.. its pointless. It has recently been taken off the market by the FDA.. Darvocet fucking sucks orally.. and basically all you snorted was APAP. Yuck.

They're really, really, really weak as opiates. The only thing they're decent at is causing respiratory depression.

Great for killing yourself (the famed "darvon cocktail"), but not so great for anything else.

It is almost entirely devoid of recreational potential.

It has? Weird... How recently?

I'm just curious because a major hospital prescribed me Darvocet a little less than two months ago (well, they tried to prescribe it to me, I didn't want it so I just said I was allergic) .

Like a few weeks ago... a month perhaps.

Darvocet SUCKS for pain.

Propoxyphene (sp?) isn't water soluble so snorting them is likely wasteful, and obviously that is a shitload of APAP. They suck and yes they were pulled from the market. If you have no opiate tolerance you might get a very slight buzz eating 4 of them. I wouldn't go any higher, they are not safe at high doses and neither is the APAP. And you can't do a CWE because they aren't water soluble.

Yeah that's what I figured. I mean, we didn't have anything else so we thought we'd give it a try. But I have a pretty high opiate tolerance so they didn't do shit to me.

i think the only less recreational narcotic would be tramadol.

i remember once popping two for a mild headache and barely getting any relief. so yeah, darvocets are a waste of time...

Just to say - tramadol really gets me good. 300-400mg of it and I'm feeling AWESOME (assuming my tolerance to other opiates is normal at the time of dosing (low)). Not saying tramadols anything like oxycodone or hydro, meth, dope, etc, even codeine, but I do thoroughly enjoy the high. Best all around antidepressant I've ever used.

Haven't gotten a chance to see if something like this will work with propoxyphene, but so far I found that it had a wonderful synergy with dope (propoxyphene @ 300mg, oral; and h @ 150mg, intranasal (obviously the dope was cut, so this isn't it's actual amount)).

Once the suboxone I took this morning wears off in a couple days I'll try propoxyphene on it's own, at around the 400mg mark I assume. Who knows, maybe it'll work. Tramadol definitely did, for me at least, so who knows...

The only thing about propoxyphene is that it seems most preparations of it have a super high apap/propoxyphene ratio (a lot of apap relative to a much smaller amount of propoxyphene). my pills are 600mg apap/100mg propoxyphene. Thus, propoxyphene might not be very worthwhile, not necessarily because it lacks any recreational value, but because the apap in it can cause serious health problems/concerns.

Anyone have any info/links to the effects of propoxyphene on the heart? Heard about heart issues, which sorta scares me, given that I'm a moderate-heavy smoker. But then again, heard something similar with tramadol - that it lowers your seizure threshold and gets dangerous around the 400mg mark - but I (stupid, I know; never gonna do it again because it wasn't any better than my favored lower dose of 300-400mg) have taken upwards of 800mg of tramadol over a couple hours. Then again, I know others who have taken a small dose of tramadol (like 75mg) and actually had a seizure, without any history of them in the past. So...

It just goes to show that we're all special in our own different ways. ;)
