Dangers of Smoking out a Can

So, i always hear people say "Oh no! dont smoke out of a coke/sprite/etc can! Its bad for your health/lungs!" But i never knew why?

As far as i know, soft drink cans are made of an alloy of Aluminium and magnesium. Both these metals have a m.p of over 600oC and b.p of Mg is ~1000oC, ~2000oC for Al.



IIRC, weed burns at about ~200oC, nowhere near that of the metals.




So, bluelighters - enlighten me :D
 
afaik, soft drink cans have a thin coating of plastic on the inside to keep the liquid from eating away at the metal.
 
Ive heard it can cause alltimers (i know I cant spell).

I smoke out of a can, but its usally last resort. Seems to hit pretty good if made right though.
 
Heh.

The common wisdom is that smoking out of cans can increase risk of Alzheimer's. I don't know if this is true or not, but I personally try to avoid cans and foil whenever possible because of this.
 
i dunno about alzheimers, but i wouldnt want to smoke out of anything with plastic in it.

Well cuz pipes cost money, and so does weed, and wit the choice of pipe or weed i know what imma take! Not everyone got alot of money. sometimes ya gottta ghetto rig it for a while thas all.
 
Isnt there also some sort of ink to make the print?? im sure ink cant be good.

smoke joints if you cant get a pipe or bong, thats my advice.

you're missing the point. its not that people choose smoking out a can rather rather than papers, pipe, bong, etc. Smoking out of a can is your last resort when you need to get high and you don't have anything to smoke out of! On numerous occasions I've gone through the trash to find a can to smoke out of because I just didn't have anything else to use at that time.
 
Are you really going to trust that soda company with your lungs?

How do they create graphic designs on the outside?
