Harm Reduction Dangerous and potentially lethal drug combinations

I think a good rule of thumb is don't mix any drugs with recreational value at all. If you have to ask then you probably shouldn't.

One I've encountered is Tramadol and SSRIs are known to be a risky combination for seizures and serotonin syndrome.

SSRIs (specifically Sertraline) seems to render MDMA innefective (though dont think it's necessarily dangerous or lethal, I'm still here, but I wont be repeating the combo because it simply doesnt work)

MDPV and MXE is also a bad idea (that should have been obvious - face palm at my own stupidity)

I guess I should not be on a high dose of phentermine and 400mg tramadol.
You should not be on phentermine period. Mixing the shittest of "uppers"(unworthy of the name) with the second shittest opioid(second to darvocets) is going to suck. I would seriously rather take Benzedrex or ephedrine, and I hate them. Please switch to something else, like Bontril, Didrex or even Tenuate. Not sure if they have it in "In my fucked up head," but some countries have Asenlix(clobenzorex), it's basically a prodrug for dextroamphetamine like Vyvanse, only it's actually XR and used for weight loss. Ask you doctor to switch to something else if possible, if possible also switch the Ultram to something else also. If your getting it on an online pharmacy use your hard earned cash on something else, even street speed.

The only advantage phentermine has over other uppers is that it's totally not fun.If you call that an advantage.

i hate tramadol with a passion, never used propoxyphene though, so i can't comment on if it's worse, but i really can't imagine any opioid being worse than it. phentermine i've never used but a buddy of mine swears by it, says IV'd he vastly prefers it to amphetamines. again, can't really comment, but his tastes are very, very similar to mine in almost all regards, so i'm gonna give him the benefit of a doubt.

I like phentermine, it is affective to suppress my appetite completely. The high is pleasant enough to me that I'd use it a lot if I had it. To me, phentermine was the only stim I had access to recently.. I was not dissappointed, I thought it would be weaker. Snorting makes it beter. I don't have regular access to phentermine or phenndimetrazine/Bontril-- stronger and better all around than phentermine. I'll read about Asilex/clobenzorex and may try to get a script for that. If you know any Appetite suppressant stimulants much better than phentermine, post it here or PM me so I can decide which one to ask about.

Switching Meds:
I could benefit from using Bontril or one of the alternatives you mentioned. I did not find phentermine overly strong or to produce any bad side effects.
The Tramadol I get for free, so I'm not going to throw it away. It has limited usefulness and only mildly euphoric. Bontril/Phendimetrazine is much better so I'll probably try to get the doc to iwrite a prescription for it or another stronger one.

If there are better choice than Bontril that can be prescribed as an appetite suppressant, please PM me about it or something. I'd like to get one that is really strong.

Tramadol not that bad. Kind of reminds me of a cross between codeine and an anti-depressant. Kind of dirty but surprisingly good.

I do recall that snorting phentermine was better than PO. For me the high end of a therapeutic dose PO felt worse than street uppers. Phentermine was in fen-phen and, though not proven, has been suspected in causing pulmonary hypertension by itself. The similar drug chlorophentermine though more abusable caused this fucked up side effect too. My experience leads me to believe that this may be true for phentermine too. Maybe the liver turns it into something toxic? Fuck everyone's different, if you enjoy it and it works that's all that matters. Many on here say that methylphenidate is worthless, but I and some I don't know would put it up there with amphetamine:?.

I didn't find phentermine to be particularly effective. For me Ritalin felt like a more effective appetite suppressant, and though I think there was a study showing Ritalin could be effective I find it's not as effective as amphetamine. I don't know if they have this where you live, but Adderall was pretty effect. It was originally a diet pill named Obetrol, and without trying I've lost 10 pounds or a little more in a week. Dexedrine(dextroamphetamine) works too, has a little bit less side effects and is cheaper last time I checked. Think even generic Adderall might be cheaper than phentermine last time I checked. And if you can get it the mack-daddy of them all is Desoxyn(methamphetamine). One of it's approved uses in the USA besides ADD is weight loss. Many say that in the low therapeutic doses it actually has less side effects. But it's very expensive, even compared to pure street meth.

I haven't tried it, but Bontril is a prodrug for the infamous phenmetrazine. Preludin itself had less peripheral side effects than other stimulants, Bontril may have less. This is because Preludin was a mixture of 2 isomers, one active in the CNS the other more active in the PNS. May have also had two others, I don't know. With Bontril it's the threo and dextro isomer with the CNS effects. This is why the dose is only a little higher than racemic phenmetrazine even though it's weaker. Maybe propylhexadrine, phentermine and tramadol would be decent if just the more active isomer was used? Don't know if phentermine has other isomers though, anyone know?

Speaking of phenmetrazine, Biphetamine was a good diet pill/upper. It used an ion-exchange resin to give an extended release for a full day! No longer around, too much fun:(. However there's a bastardized version of it called Ionamin with phentermine instead. Haven't tried it so I don't know if it's better. Don't think you can snort/shoot it though:(.

Recently the FDA approved a drug called Qnexa, a mixture of phentermine(in lower doses) and the anticonvulsant topiramate, which has appetite suppressing effects. Shittier version of Dexamyl? Supposedly it didn't have much cardiovascular side effects and was proven to work long term. Although I have read it may still cause anxiety and other CNS side effects. Most stimulants are only proven for a couple weeks, though I've heard that some doctors say that with phentermine it works for a few months.

Really stimulants aren't very effective for weight loss by themselves. Often the weight loss is only a fraction more than the placebo. Diet and exercise should be the primary focus(boo!). Stimulants can be effective for kick starting a diet and giving you energy to work out. But it's no silver bullet alone.

I don't think we should limit combinations that exert extreme respiratory depression, even though they may be somewhat obvious to most (but not all) people.

So mixing strong CNS depressants such as opioids and/or benzodiazepines and/or alcohol and/or barbituates and/or sedating antidepressants such as amitryptamine. Mixing any two or more of these is asking for an ER visit.
