damage to opiate receptors + not feeling effects of alcohol

I apologize for not knowing where to post this. I'm new to Bluelight. I am going to be starting a taper of hydrocodone in a few days and want to be prepared (I know a self taper is not recommended but it's my only choice at the moment). Will Bali Kratom really help ease the withdrawal symptoms (the worst being diarrhea, insomnia and muscle pain) and should I just follow the directions on the bottle? It's my last RX and I'm going to just gradually decrease over a series of several days til I'm totally out and am praying the WD's are minimal ( I did full Cold Turkey several years ago and know how bad it is).
Thanks.

Do you know how long withdrawal takes to kick in after you take the last hydrocodone pill? If I take my last dose on say a Thursday night, when would withdrawal start? I'm sure it depends on the dose huh? Thanks.

I moved your posts into your own thread, please post there instead.

@Blaine0136 I merged your two threads in OD together because they were both questions about symptoms occurring after ceasing opiate use. Next time, please just edit your first thread instead of creating another. Looks like you're getting some good responses but for next time, a descriptive title is also helpful.

Thank you :)

thanks for the replies. The Doc - the opiate i used was called Tramadol. Pouncey - i literally just went to a doc, he said tramadol doesnt effect GABA receptors. he doesnt have a clue why i dont feel a buzz from alcohol anymore. he said abstinence and time might help. i also never crave Tramadol when 'drunk' or even when im sober, one day i just stopped taking it

rhun - im sorry, i will do next time, thanks

what do you mean you don't feel alcohol anymore?

you mean is not as enjoyable? unless you've been drinking a lot you should still get drunk you know, even though the subjective effects can change over time...

After heroin addiction, alcohol still "fucks me up" but I get absolutely no euphoria or "pleasurable buzz" from it anymore.

So I just don't drink.
I still get the depressant effect but no euphoria like I used to get.

neurotic - its not enjoyable in the sense i feel no buzz, i dont know whats happened to my brain after tramadol use, i may be physically drunk e.g slurring and not walking straight but mentally im fine.

mabzie - how do you mean 'fucks you up'? as in physically? i can drink till im sick and still feel nothing

Yes, physically.
Like my motor skills get fucked up and I feel "depressed" in the physical sense.
Just no buzz or high whatsoever.
