Dad makes daughter youngest ever drug mule

POLICE in Colombia are on the hunt for a man who turned his 11-year-old daughter into a drug mule — nearly killing her after one of the 104 cocaine capsules he forced her to swallow exploded in her stomach.
Stuffed with illegal drugs, the unnamed girl was merely hours away from hopping on a flight to Madrid with her father when he rushed her to a hospital in Santiago de Cali, the Daily Mail reports.
Once the burst capsule was discovered, doctors performed emergency surgery during which they pulled half a kilogram of cocaine from the young girl’s stomach.
By the time the lifesaving procedure was over, the father and another relative were nowhere to be found.
Local authorities are now searching for the man.



“Everything is pointing to the fact this youngster was going to be used in a twisted way by adults as a drugs mule to transport drugs from Colombia to another country,” said Cali police chief Hoover Penilla.
“They had flights reserved to travel from Cali to Bogota and then an onward connection, Bogota to Madrid with a final destination of Gran Canaria.”
Despite telling police that she and her husband were estranged, detectives also suspected that the girl’s mother knew all about the trafficking.
A passport with the mum’s name and a plane ticket to Spain — the same place the girl’s dad planned to take her — were found when police searched her home.

Once she is released from the hospital, the youngster will be taken into temporary care by the Colombian Family Welfare Institute.

That's nothing to do with drug wars and everything to do with terrible parenting. They are criminals pure and simple, if they weren't using her as a mule they'd probably turn her into a pick pocket for their own gain.

If coke was legal and transported to market in legitimate ways this would not have happened. . So it does have allot to do with the drug war.

Last time I was in Colombia I saw families digging up roadside turf to sell to landscapers. With no social welfare system it wouldn't matter what was legal, bad parents are gonna douche regardless

Colombia hunts for father who forced 11-year-old daughter to become cocaine drug mule

Colombia is offering $10,000 for the capture of the father of an 11-year-old girl forced to carry 104 cocaine-filled capsules in her stomach.

The unnamed girl, reportedly Colombia's youngest drug mule, is in intensive care in hospital under police protection following surgery in Cali.

Her plight has shocked and angered many Colombians.

Cali police said a reward had been offered. It was more than 30 times the minimum wage in Colombia.

"The police have offered a reward of 20 million pesos ($10,806) for the capture of the father," police spokesman Carlos Molina said.

The girl, who had 500 to 600 grams of cocaine inside her, was supposed to have flown to Europe — probably Spain, authorities say — after spending the weekend with her father, who was separated from the girl's mother.

But the child was rushed to hospital before she could take the trip.

Colombia and Peru are the world's largest producers of cocaine.
