LSD would have once been a "research chemical".. MDMA too..
These new drugs may or may not be dangerous.. but then again they may be safe.. in the UK mephedrone killed 1 person while deaths from cocaine fell by 50% saving about 40 lives (quote from David Nutt)

didnt you know bath salts are a gateway drug? next thing you know, you'll be huffing jergens while shooting speedballs. what a croc of shit, the only reason "bath salts" pose any public health threat is because the general public is so grossly uninformed. Instead of banning the shit, MAYBE try talking to kids and arming them with FACTS, so that, if they choose to use, they arent stepping in to a mystery. Legislation wont save as many lives as information will.

I've heard the most bizarre, ridiculous claims about "bath salts" in the past few months, including the following gems:
"They make you think you're invincible. And that you can fly."
"You see monsters."
"Imagine PCP + methamphetamine + cocaine + heroin. THAT'S what bath salts are like."
There is undoubtedly a newsworthy story in there SOMEWHERE, the idiots just can't seem to find it. The real story is that ignorant misuse of these drugs is causing serious side effects and even death in some users. Meanwhile, gas station owners and bath salt manufacturers get away with selling a mind-altering drug that contains no list of ingredients or other vital information on the label, which is the one thing all dietary supplements MUST DO according to the FDA. Where is the accountability? Where are the parents?
You think we'd learn after watching MDMA and similar "research chemical" drugs go down in flames after periods of irresponsible use/distribution, but no. I hope that the next RC to come along stays so far underground that only a handful of people know what it is or where to get it. The fewer people that know, the better. It's too late for mephedrone and MDPV (and methylone?).

IMO, the company (or companies) selling the bath salts waved a big "fuck you!' in the face of not only the DEA but fans of research chemicals -- when they decided to sell a pretty-colored, candy-flavored addictive stimulant RC in a cute, brightly colored package on the open market.
Everyone should ostracize the fucking companies that did this, and drive them off the market. They selfishly said "fuck you" to everyone, purely for financial gain.
Not to mention, people have actually died who've used "bath salts" without being educated about the RC's contained in them. Nor *could they have* educated themselves, because the packaging lists fake ingredients, not what it actually contains.
Fuck these greedy, selfish companies.
