hey guys, i'm thinking about travelling from England to Germany on a touring bike. iv'e figured that it will take me around two weeks to get there, give or take 2-3 days as additional exploration may come into the equation.
i was wondering if anybody here has done anything like this? it is around 900 miles and i am wondering what sort of items i will need to bring on this trip. at the moment i am doing my research and calculating how much the trip will cost. i am thinking about using hostels to sleep in the evening but if i could, would it be realistic to camp every night? this would save me a handful of money and could make the trip easier as i wouldn't have to stop off at a destination which could essentially cost me an extra couple of hours of biking. obviously a couple of nights in a warm bed would be good to have but camping would be easiest.
the problem is, i'll have to take a tent with me anyway even if i was going to sleep in a hostel every night, just as a precaution. so either way, i will be carrying this weight. i'm a total newb to all this and so any advice on what to take would be appreciated.
thanks for reading
