Hi,

Is it possible to do a Cold Water Extraction with dissolvable tablets
(30mg Codeine / 500 mg acetaminophene)

Thanks

I see no reason for the extraction not to work. The solubility of each differs quite much. For certainty crush the pills before dissolving.

I remember reading somewhere that CWE on soluble paracetomol DOES NOT WORK. If you hold on for a few minutes I'll try and find it. They add something to the paracetomol to make it more water soluble (regardless of temperature).

EDIT:

This is where I read it: http://codeine.50g.com/info/extraction.html (mods, the link is a HR site, with information on CWE's and such only. I checked quickly for any sources or anything).

"Don't use dispersible tablets because it's very hard to extract secondary substances from them.... The term secondary substance refers to paracetamol, aspirin or ibuprofen."

That's all I have. I know it's just a dude one a website, but so is everything people above have said. Considering the health risks involved, I would say it warrants further investigation before you go ahead.

All the best :)
