Opioids CWE codeine not as good?

I have Panadeine tablets (8 mg codeine/500 mg APAP) and the effects hardly resemble any other forms of codeine I've ever ingested. Instead of the warm, itchy opiate high I get from an equivalent dose of Tylenol #3 or codeine cough syrup, I only feel sedated and gassy after drinking the CWE solution. Strangely, I always have to poop urgently within 15 minutes of ingesting! That's definitely not a typical opioid effect. :p

I'm fairly sure I'm doing the CWE correctly, as lots of white chunky stuff gets filtered through. I run it through twice using one coffee filter each time. Tastes bitter and disgusting as expected. The tablets claim to contain no lactose or other fillers, just codeine + APAP. They're manufactured in Australia and repackaged in Sri Lanka and look like this. There's definitely a head change but it's nowhere near as pleasant as other forms of codeine. (Yes, I'm a major lightweight who finds codeine euphoric. No judging ;)). My current opioid tolerance is zero.

Anyone have any experience or insight?

What kind of dosage were you doing?

Maybe you're either making the solution incorrectly or there is some other thing in the pill (despite their clam, which may only list active ingredients) that is also going in your solution which screws up your high in larger dosages?

Do you feel it normally if you just take a few of the pills?

Honestly I've never heard of anything like what you described.
 
I use about 9-10 pills in the solution, which averages 72 to 80 mg of codeine. 30-40 mg is all it takes to get nicely high off pure codeine tablets or Tylenol #3. Any more than that makes me dizzy and nauseous.

I've tried taking 2 of the pills whole and get the same "blah" sedated feeling, albeit milder than the stronger solution. Very weird.
 
so jealous, even before graduating into the higher-grade opiates codeine did nothing for me, except produce and massive histamine rush, bleh :P

perhaps you have begun to develop a tolerance?

Yup my guess is tolerance too, that's such an extremely small amount I could never feel that even before I had any tolerance. And no way they are just apap and codeine no filler.
 
Thanks for the suggestions! I tried filtering this batch a third time and it definitely helps with the stomach discomfort. APAP seems to have a nasty effect on my bowels and stomach for some reason...worse than NSAIDs even. Hmph.

I use codeine about 5 days out of the month so I guess a tolerance could develop that way. (Though I used opium poppies daily for 4 years and never developed much tolerance at all). These pills have always just not felt like any other codeine preparations. Might experiment with some other brands next time.

I feel ya on the jealousy, lol. I'm jealous of peeps who can get high off Ultram. Fuck those people! ;)
 
Hmm i know they put alot of fillers in the OTC codeine pills here in Canada and they can have a nasty effect on your stomach. I find they produce more nausea then pure codeine but then again we only get the ones that have 300mg of APAP, 15mg's of caffeine and mg's of codeine so no doubt the caffeine makes the nausea worse.
 
That's interesting, android! I had some Solpadeine with caffeine once and it was AWFUL. Sure wish we had OTC codeine where I live!

Also wish this label was more informative. The box comes with a fold-out paper of info, but no inactive ingredients are listed. Gotta say, this triple-filtered batch goes down much smoother though.

I'm pretty tolerant to caffeine so taking a large dose of caffeine with the mix only means that i have to skip my morning coffee. You can get the kind withoout caffeine such as Robaxin-c's which have Methocarbamol in them and Mersyndol which has the anti-histamine doxylamine in them. But as Robaxin costs a fortune and doxylamine is water soluble those are not worth it unless your just taking them for medical use.
