Customers line up for 'pot shop' in Washington

Customers in Washington have been lining up for the first day of legal marijuana sales.

It is the second state to legalise the drug for recreational use, although some states already allow marijuana to be bought and sold for medical purposes.

I had no idea cannabis had been legalized anywhere in the US... apparently it was legalized for adults in 2012 there & Colorado. Still interesting to see shops are now allowed to sell it if they are approved.

they sold out :D - Only had a few lbs for the day! Apparently it was going for 21$ a g (more than street level).

If they don't sort the prices out they will actually create a bigger boom in illegal sales - cops are not going to fuck about checking where you bought your pot from so people will use the street dealers. (Dealers should target the guys waiting to get into the shop).

Yeah i'm from Oregon the state right underneath Washington. I personally haven't been up to WA since the law was passed so i don't know much about it. I foresaw the high ass prices. Not too surprised to see it being sold at that high of a price. I am a medical patient in OR and i would almost hate to see the law passed here just because i fear it would fuck up alot of the shit we have going on. I have no clue how the legalization in OR would affect the medical program but im sure it would have some influence in dispensary prices.

This november OR is having the legalization of pot on thee ballot again. Im about 75% positive it will pass. Our last proposal for legalization was so poorly put together that its no wonder it wasn't passed. The revenue needs to be more organized and clear cut.

I am excited for OR to legalize weed but i am also not very excited because i am content with our medical program and our prices plus when you have a card you feel like part of some exclusive club. Lol.

Aye, it also would have been mad expensive because there was a known shortage of it. I can't see it staying at $21/g for long when, as you said, someone will just stand outside and sell it for $10.

Think about how cheap weed actually is to produce and how many people will be growing it now that they are not risking jail. It won't be long until the place is flooded with the stuff.

curious_24-lol it will all be legal sooner or later regardless of my opinion. but no i would never want to withhold the grace of legal buds to my fellow brothers and sisters.

parttimecrackhead and vurtual- good ass point. even if prices are high shit will change eventually. people compare it to the legalization of alcohol. but its different. you dont see every other person brewing moonshine in your neighborhood. BUT you DO see every other person (at least in OR) growing fucking buds. lol. its awesome. it will be everywhere and companies will have to adjust to the demand otherwise we will just go to out buddy's who have the same dank ass shit for a cheaper price.

if you sell at that high of a price and others on the street are offering for half the amount then there goes your business.

i think you guys just made me pretty exicted to see legalization actually. lol. cuz i know even if there is fucked up prices all my buddies will still hold it down and hook it up as always %)
