(answered) current bluelight design

whats with the current bluelight design? it seems its related to shulgin's death because he is on top of the forum like he is some type of a rockstar, and then we have a silly quote put in there.
but most importantly, we have this horrible change of design in exchange for the beloved blue bluelight design. im going to complain about it because i dont like it. and i have a question, why do we care to pay respect to shulgin anyway. he was a chemist whose job was to synthesize chemicals and make profit. not sure why we have to salute him and kiss his feet at all. 8)
 
BL won't be this way forever so I don't see the need to complain.
many people on this forum used and use shulgin's substances, why do you wonder why people are sad and want to pay homage to the man?
wouldn't you be upset if your favourite artist/actor/whatever died?

and do you find it wrong that he made profit from what he created? (which btw isn't very true, I don't think all the RC vendors "stealing" his drugs are sending their profits to Shulgin :/ )
do you think he should have done it for free?

I think you should show more respect for this great man and the BL community, just my opinion.
 
i dont see why he deserves respect. he is like any other chemist, just had the chance to encounter a starting material and went nuts from there being obsessed with the next chemical. i just dont see why people should respect or praise scientists who are making good money and can live long lives. and for all i know, he probably stole some patents like einstein did. once you get your foot in the door and become big with influences, you can easily grab a working man's material and put him into oblivion
 
shulgin didn't make any money off of his psychedelic creations, and as such he died relatively poor. if he had eschewed psychedelic research, he would have been able to stay at DOW and make a comfortable living.

not that this really matters here, as from what i've seen from some of his recent posts, asecin is a borderline troll
