Bupe Curious about if I'm going to W/D?

I had been a heavy opiate user before, went through treatment and was released in July of '10. Afterwards, I admit I relapsed on only a few 30mg Roxis. I would snort them maybe once every other day to maintain not feeling pillsick until someone could get me Suboxone - that started around late-Sept./early-Oct. of 2010.

Recently, I've made the conscious decision to take myself off of Suboxone, as I had been taking it since late September/early October of 2010. I honestly would burn through the 8mg tabs at first usually within 4 -5 days, but since early December I have been working on slowing and lowering my dosage - basically, getting to the point where I was snorting crumbs. I prefer to snort Sub - IDK, I just enjoy it.

For the past 4 -5 days I had been taking maybe .5mgs of crumbs that I had leftover from my last 8mg tab. The last .5mg (if that even) of sub I snorted was at 6a.m. Sunday (01/09/11). Well, now that today is here I feel fine, but what should I expect in the next days to come?

I don't feel achey, sweaty, have the runs, or any usual withdrawl symptons I have had before. I also have 3 2mg bars that I have just to be prepared for the anxiety, etc. Could anyone enlighten me on if I am in the clear from withdrawls? Or will I be going through some mild Hell in the next days or even next weeks?

Thank you so much for any input, guys! I haven't been able to find any posts relating to what I'm going through.

I'm not an expert but I've been taking Subutex for over 3 years now and I can tell you Bupe has a very long half life and certainly when it builds up in your system over time, if you are going to get w/d I would expect them around 2 days after your last dose, at least that's when I would start feeling rough.

2 days later, though? Even if I had decreased my dose to .5mg or less? Well, I guess it's going to help that I have Melatonin and those few bars. I haven't had to deal with W/Ds for a few months, so what kind of severity am I to expect with such a small dose? I'm praying it's not full blown insomnia, runs, RLS, or any of the other unpleasant bullshit.

yeah youll probably start feeling it tommorrow evening. it shouldnt be anything bad though you got the dose down too a reasonable amount. My friend just did this and all he had was trouble sleeping for a few days. And with the xanax and maybe a little weed you probably wont even notice.

If for some reason the kick turns out to be bad you could always get on lope and start tapering that down.

Well obviously everyone reacts somewhat differently to withdrawal, but I have used opiates every summer for 3 - 4 months every day and then quit until the next summer.

My detoxing and tapering method is similar to what you have done, my last week consists of less than .5mg of Buprenorphine daily.

For me personally, I've found that coming off such a small dose of Bupe, after using daily for only 3 - 4 months, makes the detox relatively painless. The symptoms are much less severe, and the overall withdrawal is also much shorter. It usually takes me about 3 - 5 days to completely stop feeling symptoms, while in the past its taken me up to 2 weeks.

I still get some sweats and temperature changes, as well as fatigue and a little joint pain... But I can usually eat fine and can also get at least a few hours of sleep each night. Overall, it's very bearable, so much so that it doesn't actually interfere with my life at all. I didn't even need to call out of work.

Remember though, everyone reacts differently to every drug/lack there of.

Good luck!
