Cup-O-THC?

But I still think most of the THC-COOHs were still THC-COOHs when they went in my belly...

Wouldn't the ph 2 hcl in your belly help with this?

hmmm...
I would have though; not neccasarily. If I had a strong oxidant in my belly the acidic environment would increase the rate of oxidation of THC to THC-COOH, but just being acidic doesn't turn alcohols to carboxylic acids.

I went and got that paper, from the bits I could decern it says:
It is possible for Cannabinoid acids to slowly decarboxylate at room temperature. In that way approximately 50% of the originally existing THC-COOH were decarboxylated to neurtral THC in a Bolivian Cannabis plant sample after one years storage.

Interestingly, if you say that It takes THC 1 year (31536000 seconds) to 50% decarboxylate at 20ºC, and it takes between 1 and 0.1 seconds to decarboxylate 50% at 200ºC, and you fit a expotential curve to those points, you can interpolate to 100ºC, and it says it will take between 95 and 228 minutes to decarboxylate to 50%.

Well, I see you saved me lots of trouble.. Do you happen to have that article online now, or is that too much trouble?

Those calculations do match the cooking time that's used to make the butter..

with water for example. It evaporates at pretty much any temperature above the 0ºC (albeit slowly)
just to be an ass... it actually still evaporates at 0ºC and below, but it's sublimating at those temperatures... ever notice your icecubes get smaller as the year goes by? ;)

If you're going to be an ass, evaporation, by definition, is a change from liquid to gas, so sublimation is definatly not evaporation

(but you could be at a pressure where 0ºC and below is still liquid).

I don't see how correcting things can make you an ass, I only find it helpful.

*busted* lol. I can't fucking spell it's the truth.
I just handed in a really important research grant proposal, and right on the first fucking page in the abstract, theres a spelling mistake so that one of the 4 sentances doesn't even make sense!
