The yellow brick road!
there's something to say about internet cafe's.
about how the guy next to me smells like beer.
on the other side, a girl,
she smells like cheap perfume'.
but each here socailising.
each doing the same.
music in the back ground, reminds me of you.
lovely lil treasures of memories.
something i dont want to ever give back.

if you took things for the face value
like the world seems to do.
you'd see the pretty colours of this girls dreds,
but then u'd also see the pain,
visible in her face.
how she sits there and types away.
silently.
subdue.

everyone has their own lil stories.
of how they got here.
from where ever it was they came.
but me and my lil cubicle,
we're one of another.
small and confined.
blue marble patterns tell my story.
how i think of you even though i always see you.
how true a friend you are.
how you make my mind go insaine.

theres hundreds of people walking past the window.
on lunch breaks, or probably just heading somewhere.
they remind me on an army of ants.
all heading somewhere.
all with purpose and a fullfillment to survive.
each with a dream to strive.
to be all you can be.
each exactly the same.

there's something to be said about melbournes internet cafe's.
inside all cosy and warm.
so cold outside. beginning to rain.
i walk out the door to go home.
to a nice warm heater.
a cute friendly face.
where i can curl up inside a doonah,
and not be a statistic.
i can be me.
all of it and nothing in between.

i love the matter of fact describtions in the poem. poetry that captures a moment we are in, or even just privy too, are my favorites to read. with your vivid writing you were able to transport me from vancouver canada the many thousands of miles to be able to sit with you in that internet cafe in melbourne, and to see not just through your eyes, but with mine as well.

the second line gave me a good chuckle. =D

back when my computer was broken I enjoyed going to the uni computing commons cause it was very social. You could have a million relationships without blinking an eye so I like this poem very much.
