Cross tolerance between Lyrica and Benzo's?

Pretty much my question.

I have a thoracic/lumbar MRI scheduled for tomorrow. My neurologist prescribed me 3 ativan in 0.5 mg strength. But I am not sure if the fact that I am on 450mg of Lyrica daily will affect how well the Ativan works. I am actually not claustophobic but when asked if I needed anything for that, well of course I said yes! But if it is not really going to work very well because of the Lyrica then I may save it for a rainy day.

1.5mg lorazepam isn't much to begin with, but you should feel it despite the lyrica, if I had to guess. Let us know how it goes for you

All went fine. Took the Ativan, all 1.5 mg's, about one and half hours prior to the MRI. I had also taken my usual compliment of meds ( baclofen, tramadol, lyrica, oxycodone, and morphine) at the same time. Once inside I was told it would take 45-55 minutes to do both the thoracic and lumbar scans, thank goodness all the meds kicked in because it seemed like 5 minutes had gone by and I was being pulled out and told what a good patient I had been.
