Is it possible to get into any legal issue if you uploaded a video of you taking massive bong tokes on YouTube, if you live in America?
Wanted one for Myspace ;)

possible, especially if it is obvious that you are lighting something green and leafy, not tobacco. but rather unlikely

at the same time, the internet is a very public forum, and you arent gonna be able to hide behind a clever name and a pixelated avatar. is that really advisable? there are other possible consequences than just legal, including friends, family, coworkers, or bosses seeing you smoking. plus, that shit is there forever, it will not die

^I'm not worried about any personal issue at all.
But how would any legal authority know where you smoked it?
Could be in Amsterdam for all they know.

No, but if you put it on your myspace page you can say goodbye to any job opportunities above construction or fast food. Like an above poster said, you have to realize that even after you take it down, it'll still be on the web in some form. If you get a successful career, you don't want that shit surfacing and coming back to haunt you 10 years from now. There's just no point, I advise you to not do it (yes, I realize you're going to do it anyway).

If your not worried about any personal issues than you need to try to look at things from someone else's perspective. What would you think of someone who posts videos of themselves committing a crime and using drugs? Not only is it just stupid to make videos of yourself committing a crime, it makes you look juvenile, unprofessional, and worst of all, you'll give the impression that your just plain ignorant.

And even if any law enforcement couldn't pinpoint where you did it, they would know that you did, and could, with little effort, start finding other places you've incriminated yourself, and/or wait for you to slip up again and make public something they could really use to fuck you.

I would think this would be common sense.

I apologize for double posting, but many web pages are archived by companies like google and yahoo, so...... yeah. Transcendence hit the nail on the head.

yeah I wouldn't worry too much about LE, when's the last time you heard of a youtube stoner getting busted? the job thing is a legit concern on your myspace, I would still be careful about that.

yea for all yall know im pretending where all just kidding about all this stuff on here right and most sertainly were not currently doing anything -its all in the past.... thepast..... the past.....if its all in the past ur ok.upload it from someone elses computerjust to be safe

Most likely no legal consequence would come of it. Plenty of people do what you are putting on video. Go ahead and do what you like, it's a free country

Answer to your question: Law Enforcement doesn't care.

Advice to you: Don't be an idiot.

Keep in mind other people in the drug culture are gonna have a hard time trusting someone who makes use public, I sure as hell wouldn't sell someone a bag of weed if they willing to incriminate themselves, let alone me.

I just don't see the point, why do you want people to see you hit on bong on an online video? Just invite them over for a smoke an they can see the real thing.

i think this shouldn't even have to be a debate. MARIJUANA SHOULD BE LEGAL, IT IS NOT A DRUG!
but unfortunately it is illegal and i wouldn't upload any vids of me smoking ganja, besides that's lame, who wants to watch you smoke pot, BORING!

As far as legal trouble, very unlikely.

In the private sector you could face discrimination from possible employers, or your acceptance in higher education could be put in jeopardy, or if family or friends come across the video and they don't approve. You can prevent this by making your myspace profile private and your youtube account should be under a fictional alias.

In short just because your chances of being arrested for it are slim to none, that still does not make it a good idea.
