Cocaine Crack (some meth) and seizure

I had a bad experience 2 nights ago. A lot of times when I am smoking, if I get a big hit I get really light headed, can't walk, and shake a lot. It happened a lot so I did not think anything of it. I REALLY liked it and it did not worry me, that is why I kept doing it. I would wait till the shaking stopped, and go do another. (let me note, this NEVER happened while I was on a med called Lamictal).

Well, I did it for like 2 days straight (I did about 2/3 of a quantity worth x in that time frame). At the very end, I was coming down hard (I am on Desoxyn, rx methamphetamine, I only took 3 5mg in the middle) so I was drinking wine. 10 minutes after my last hit I just start shaking again, and it got bad. I started convulsing and could not stop. I was awake. I could not talk, was talking nonsense, not even words. A good half hour goes by, I'm on the floor, still convulsing. Then I stop breathing, stop convulsing, and I'd have a huge gasp of air then start convulsing again. Rinse, repeat. Whole time I'm drinking wine to try and combat this. Dumbass ex (though smart in a way, say dumbass cause I could have choked) stuffed 4mg of Klonopin in my mouth, I let em melt mostly till I could get the wine bottle again.

I can't seem to find anything saying this is a seizure (because I was conscious), or an OD, or what the hell happened to me. But I'm still not right. I'm talking mush mouth, not remembering what I said 5 minutes ago. Forgetting periods of time, like I forgot 3 hours yesterday. Ok, most of yesterday but I remember overall bits and pieces.

Any frikkin clue? I CANT see a doctor until it is out of my system and I am jonesin like a mad woman. My ex experienced something similar when he took way too much damn Tramadol but his seizure lasted 5-10 min vs my 1 hour + and still twitching/shaking next day.

I'm just ready to go again once dood wakes up. I don't want be a vegetable, and yeah I'd love to friggin die, but I want to know what the hell happened.

Thoughts? anyone heard of this?

Sounds like a straight up overdose. Smoking rock cocaine while on other powerful stimulants is a Bad Fucking Plan as I'm sure you've realized. Cocaine is well known for causing convusions and seizures in overdose.

Consuming a whole shitload of alcohol and Klonopin, both very fat soluble drugs, will leave you with a foggy head for a week or so until your body cleans the drugs out. They probably helped save you from convulsing even more. Having convusions for an hour isn't helping either.

I would get yourself to a doctor and get your head checked out - first physiologically, then mentally. When stimulant use ends in seizures and bad shit like this it's timne to re-evaluate your use.

Well we got 3.5g more tonight. I've done 3 hits in 10 min. And I am not feeling anything. But I did not take all but 1 meth pill today. I think my brain is getting used to all of this.

My heart rate is 95. The other day it was 150+ doing the stuff before I had the "episode". I did take Valium as precaution. Only thing I feel is racing heart, but it isn't really... (I used to exercise at 160... before I started this stuff).

At this point, quitting seems like what I am gonna do. But, did I have a seizure? Because I was told it was not a seizure due to consciousness and I'd like to know what the heck happened to warn others...

Coming from someone who has had a seizure before, you did not have a seizure. You always black out moments before you go into a grand mal seizure, and don't regain conciousness until a few minutes to an hour later.

It sounds like you overdosed on stimulants, and got into a hyper excitable state that involved convulsions. While not a seizure, they are a severe sign of bodily harm.

It doesn't have to be a grand mal though. Sometimes people go into seizures with a total blank stare and just space out. Seriously.

Yeah there are petit mal and complex partial seizures and other, more selective seizures, but those are much less commonly triggered by drug abuse.

Generally, drug use (whether stimulant overdose or benzo withdrawal) causes grand mal seizures.

And what he describes doesn't fit the bill for any type of seizure I know of.

I'm trying to understand. Was the 3.5g of crack bought in order to recreate the experience, or just in total disregard of it?

fuck you crazy (no offence)but after having that happen to you,you go out and use more!what the fuck!?do you care if you die or what??!! do yourself and your loved ones a favor and have a break for a while

A mild stroke, maybe? Although most likely, the forgetfulness could have been due to the 4 mg of Klonopin. It is just a thought. I am not a doctor, and you really should see one about this.

I've had experiences like you described, but never for as long as an hour. I used to IV coke, not smoke it, but big shots were often followed by periods where I was conscious but lost motor control; flopping around like a fish on the floor.

Sometimes they would stop and and then start again, but I think the longest lasted 20 minutes. I believe this is a petit mal seizure, and should be a warning sign to slow down or take a break. If you can't do it yourself it might be time to seek help.

Smoke more crack and meth and maybe shoot up a little heroin while your at imo at least lol.

Aerobic sessions @160 is not an indication that all of your cerebral blood vessels/arteries can handle the same blood flow volume as efficiently under a heavy, extended cocaine session @160 (plus probably a high blood pressure). During an extended cocaine session your blood vessels contract and can actually take less volume. This can lead to thrombosis which could trigger transient or more severe strokes.

You should also consider whether you were properly hydrated during your session as dehydration could have potentially played a role in your case (wine doesn't count, it only further dehydrates you..)

If you aren't quitting by now (you should) then please at least allow yourself the 7-10 days needed to heal just enough, mentally and physically, and go see a doctor.

I don't smoke meth. I take it pill form for adhd, Desoxyn and don't abuse it (take as rx'ed).

Using valium beforehand since this "episode", I have not experienced this since and I recovered fully. I dunno what happened still.

Cyc, I have a bad addiction w/crack, that's why I bought more. And Desoxyn makes me want it 10x harder.

Petit Mal seizures are often just a blank stare, like Dex said. I don't think this is a seizure but it does sound like something you should consult with a doctor. FC was right, this is def. a sign to slow down or just take a break and get some help for your addiction. Good luck to you!
