Could you counter withdrawals by dosing with an opposing drug.

This may seem an odd question, or a totally stupid idea depending on your knowledge. As I have none, I will ask anyway.
If one of the side effects from opiate abuse is constipation and the withdrawals cause diarrhoea, and those that abuse laxatives get to a point where they need laxatives to "go". If you were to take a laxative everytime you dosed with opiates (if you were taking regularly), would the withdrawal from both the laxative and the opiates when you stopped both counteract each other?
I.e. you would just have normal bowel habits again. Might this work in theory? Or am I just stupid...

Interesting theory, I guess it would depend on what laxative you're talking about, since there are many of them and they have many different methods of action.

i wouldnt think so.It is a intresting point tho its def not a stupid ?.
I would say no tho.Just my opinion.

Could be an interesting experiment, I'd say there is a small chance it would work.
Although it'd be a bit pointless; loperamide (OTC opioid) would be a much better choice to counteract withdrawal diarrhoea.

.When I realized I was an addict and did some treatment for opies awhile back I began substituting it with booze and now I drink so fast and so much more.....I thought it might help but I fell into it as well for a minute....I knew it was time to take a stand when I IVed vodka to stop shaking and kicking....wana quit something, don't grab something else!
