Could not eating for several hours contribute to stomach illness from Methylphenidate

I took roughly 90mg of methylphenidate and was feeling great for a few hours before feeling the comedown coming. I then (possibly stupidly) redosed another 70mg. I started to comedown about 2.5 hours after that. So I took maybe 50mg Diazepam over the course of a 1-1.5 hours.

I was feeling sick, nothing too extreme, but like I was about to puke. I haven't puked, but just that similar back of throat/stomach feeling. I hadn't eaten for maybe 4 hours, first meal begin when I took the first 90mg. Could this contribute to my stomach illness?

I know it is crucial to eat and stay hydrated during methylphenidate and amphetamines but I was caught up with other duties. I am eating right now, though.

EDIT: It seems more to me, now, like indigestion. Haven't experienced this before from methylphenidate. Most likely too high of a dose.

Indigestion certainly can make you feel sicky and can give you a funny feeling in the back of your throat. It also tends to be painful, sore/burning/at least uncomfortable.. if it's just sickiness its unlikly but not impossible. Try some antacids or something :)

Or your tummy could just not be happy going without food then getting reintroduced to it.

Or indeed it could be the amphetamine; it can be hard on the gut.

Or it could be the start of a tummy bug or the flu or anything really.

We can't diagnose you over the internet!

If it doesn't settle/gets worse/is concerning you, you should really pop and see a doctor.. don't have to mention phet if you don't want to, they will still be able to rule out anything serious and have a stab at a diagnosis. Of course, I feel it is always best to be honest, but do understand why its tricky!

Rehydration is essental! Loads at once can make you sick, so little and often is usually best. If you've been out raving (or have diarrhoea) something like an isotonic sports drink or even squash replaces lost salt as well as lost water. Eating is good, but don't push yourself. Try for high energy/protein food or small amounts little and often perhaps, I find protein shakes really useful, and avoid anything spicy obviously!!

If you get diarrhoea as well it's more likely to be a stomach bug, see your doc if concerned.

^^ He's right, we have no idea what's wrong with you. I managed to give myself an ulcer by taking a high dose of amphetamines on an empty stomach, although it helps if you already have a history of ulcers.

I'm thinking the feeling in your throat is bile, some drugs give you symptoms similar to acid reflux. Not eating for too long will also contribute, glad you're feeling better.

If you have similar symptoms from again especially from another drug it would probably be a good idea to have your liver checked and/or check for ulcers.

It sounds like your'e just hungry. A lot of people get an upset stomach if their hunger is left unchecked for too long, and stimulants don't exactly slow your calorie burn rate.

Ya, thanks for the replies, you all sound pretty correct. I have Lansoprazole caps for acid reflux here, but was weary of taking them. So I took Akla Seltzer instead and it seemed to do the trick. Regardless, fell asleep real quick once that feeling passed, haha.
