Cough Syrup....What Brand? How Much?

Check out Erowid (www.erowid.org) DXM vault, they have a whole bunch of reports of DXM usage ("robotripping") using Robitussin DX, or I think there's a 'cheaper alternative' called something similar to durotuss or something. Most trip reports contain information about the exact chemicals ingested, and the dosage. Be prepared to convert ounces to millilitres, because many of the reports are American.
Anyway, the main thing is that you have only 1 active ingredient, and that is dextromethorphan (for an excellent FAQ on this chemical, click here). As for dosage... remember start slowly, you can always take more. The listing on the Erowid page suggests that 200-400mg of DXM is a common dose (ensuring once again that there are no other dangerous ingredients).

but for fuck sakes, check the erowid faq. this shit is fun, but if you fuck up, you fuck up big. in short, if it has almost anything else other than dxm in it, it can prolly kill ya, give you brain damage, or in the least make you chuck your guts up.

Its called Robotussin DX extra strength or something... for memory, 30mg/10mLs (or something). Only get the DX one... and again check that the only active ingredient is DxM. Read all you can - it may be the only thing that stops you calling Poisons in a panic. Have someone there with you, do not go above a 500mg dose, and be prepared for a what might be a rough ride.

Yeah.. Robotussin DX is the one to get.. It will cost around $12 - $15 for one 200mL bottle containing 600mg of DXM..
I would try around 200 - 300mg for a first dose.. and be warned: DXM isn't really a "going out" drug..
I personally found 600mg quite enjoyable.. just kicking back on the couch, listening to some chill tunes and enjoying the closed eye visuals.. I wouldn't do it with too many people around though, I found it to be a bit more scattery than acid. Bulbs are nice on it as well.. (but not as good as on MDMA)
Ugggh... enjoy it while you can.. because I found DXM to be an alright experience (if you want something different).. but there is NO WAY that I could guzzle another bottle of that stuff.. I feel sick just thinking about it.. uggghhhhh...
Here's a tip.. if you end up getting a bottle, measure out your dose and then just skull it, then chase it with some flavoured milk.. as it's the only thing that get's rid of the taste..
I seriously feel sick now just thinking about glugging that syrup..

im in melbourne, and i cant find anywhere thats got robo DX, the closest ive found is robo DM - which also has that nasty guaiphenesin stuff that makes you hurl.
ive found a couple of others that have a healthy dose of DXM but with pseudoephedrine HcL

Don't bother with the Robotussin DM.. just get DX!!
I'm in Melbourne too and have no trouble finding it.. Just go to more chemists and keep looking..
From what I've read, taking the one with pseudo-effedrine in it is alot more dangerous.. and having sat through a couple of DXM trips I definately wouldn't want the added effects of pseudo on top of it..

yah....duro-tuss has pseudoephidrine in it from memory, and as far as i have read (which is quite a bit, and i highly suggest anyone who plans on doing it to do so too, because it is easy to fuck up) there is no problem with doing this (meth=bad tho, don't do that)
on the whole 'its not a social drug, don't go out and dance on it' i will offer my experiences, but not claim yours will be anything like mine.
as quoted in the ultimate dxm faq (linked on erowid) one third of people like it, one third hate it, one third couldn't care less....and everyone that likes it has completely different experiences.
all i can say is, i love dancing on it, i find it extremely social (mostly with duro-tuss+ephidrine, funnily enuff) and don't have massive visuals (odd because i get mdma visual of half a pill)...so yeah, horses for courses (that wasn't a blatant k reference either

I have heard of this Robitussin chugging, and am a little curious.
I fucked up huge with nutmeg!!! (Couldn't get out of bed for three fucking days!! HAHAH! Character building shit, I tell ya!)
Anyone got any advice / info / experiences they could offer. I'd give it a go, just a little stand-offish.

Im just repeating as someone whose done it... do not take a large dose (>500mg). Sure it might be good, but my first try (~500mg), it felt like i had live insects crawling under my skin and stinging my flesh, my veins stood out on my head, I was ripping my hair out coz my head was so itchy, I turned completely red, and so on. In short, I was fucked for awhile. This went on for ages. (over an hour)
It was no biggie coz I knew it could happen, and had read about it. I knew itd pass. It might be for some, but its not for me, simply because I had spent 3 hours reading about it beforehand. It proabaly wont be like this (bad) for you. Just be prepared.
Im not trying to fuck up peoples trips. Just that if its not nice, it will pass, and if you watch your dosage, youre OK. Remember that and you will be fine. Its a fucking strange ride, and for many people its pretty great

like maxi i found out the hard way DM=guaiphenesin = upset stomach/nausea, flatulation and all sorts of unpleasent side effects.

Get it from the larger chemists, not all of them have DX.
Take down 90ml maximum if its your first attempt at brain damage, and swallow it over the course of an hour with 15 min intervals inbetween equal dosages, Ex. 1:00, 1:15, 1:30, 1:45, 2:00pm.
Take a couple of swigs of orange juice down after the doses, it'll neutralize the DXM HBr in your tummy man!
btw if anyone would like the DXM dose calculator, email me, its win32, and hasn't existed at the link off from the third-plateau site in ages.

Robitussin DX is the only cough syrup u can buy which only has DXM as the active and doesnt contain sorbitol (yukky laxative effect) most pharmacies do have it, but often they are wary who they hand it out to. So if q'ed u have or your family memeber has a very dry unproductive cough, and this is the only thing that works1 ($12.70 for 100ml)
Something else which is quite fun to take is Nucosef, its a codeine/pseudoephidrine mix (around $17 for 200ml). i normally use this when i have a cold, but once a double dosed it by accident ( i forgot that 1 tbsp was 10 mls and took 2.5 tbsps!) and had a very interesting day a uni and work!
