I don't get high off these or anything, I just have a habit of eating them when there's a bag in front of me, like right now. I know that it is possible to OD on the menthol that's in them, but I have no idea how much it takes, and haven't been able to find it anywhere. Does anyone have any ideas...? I've probably had at least 10 of them in the last 15 minutes or so and it says to have only one every hour...

like regular cough drops like the halls ones? i don't think they have anything dangerous in them, just menthol and sugar. maybe some stomach pains after eating alot but i don't think one can od on cough drops. i eat those things like candy. honey-lemon mmm mmm.

Heh, there's a chance if you can down 200 or so of a DXM-containing cough drop in a reasonable amount of time. Some types have 10mg per.

wouldn't that be approximately 2 grams of dxm? that is a very large dose, which is just 500 mg beneath what erowid states as the risk of death dose.
the sucrets lozenges are what i assume you were referring to. they have 18 lozenges, with 10mg each. so if you down one package, you are just under a common dose.
180mg per box, you do the math for what you want.
as for menthol toxicity,
"Dr. James Duke at the USDA Agricultural Research Center estimates that the LD50 (dose at which half the animals die) for menthol is higher than coffee, oral LD50 in rats of 192 mg/kg (CRC Handbook of Medicinal Herbs, 1987).

as for how much menthol is in cough drops, i have no idea. i tried searching around the web, but came up with no results. my suggestion though, is too pay more attention to your body, and if you notice anything not feeling right(i.e. odd pain, nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, dizziness, tachycardia, or shallow breathing were the more common symptons i read) then you should definately stop using them. (common sense!)

Though not necessarily lethal, it's still what I'd consider an "overdose". You wouldn't remember much after that and you'd feel like your brain had been raped for a couple days.
