cooking with marijuana

i still find it hard to believe because i've eaten uncooked pot and gotten stoned.. though not as stoned off comparable amounts of butter

This is probably because some of the cannabinoids have been decarboxylated due to aging.

i boil the butter/water/bud for like 6 hours before straining, then use the butter as regular butter. it works very well.

This is SWIM's favorite method as well, but I think 6 hours is a little excessive and heating that long might even hasten the break down of THC, (although that is merely speculation). SWIM has had very successful cooking projects with 30 minutes to an hour of boiling. This method works especially well for large quantities of low quality cannabis, such as trim and leaves that have already been put through the bubble bags, because it allows you to pack a lot of plant goodies into half a pound of butter. I also believe the water removes a lot of the plant taste and I think that is a good thing.

I'm sure just throwing the pot into the brownie mix will work, it will just taste poor and might not be as active as it would be by making butter.

Eating unpreped MJ does work, try it...

Canabutter is better (Good for brownies, rice crispy treats, etc.)
CanaOil is good also (Good for Salad dressings, Pound cakes, etc.)

Mixing pot directly into the brownie mix does work but the end product tastes like shit and it is just much more efficent to double-boil your butter/oil and use that strain away all the remaining sludge.

If you really want to you can get some '00' size gell caps and pack the sludge inside the caps and than throw in the freezer. The sludge that is left over is rich in oil/butter and THC. You down 5-6 gel caps and you are pretty damn stoned.

This is also a good method to use when thinning out male plants 5 or 6, 5 foot tall male plants can produce alot of butter, even more gel caps. Yes there is THC in the male leaf.

um i'm curious. how would heat "activate" these chemicals?

this was probably just thought up by some dumbass stoners who thought, "well, we have to burn it and smoke it to get high, so we probly have to heat it somehow in order to get off by eatin it too! yeah! huhuhuh"

8( Consuming raw weed is a waste. By raw I mean uncooked, when weed is tossed in brownie mix and brownies are made, etc, it's not raw.

Eat 2 grams of decent homegrown and tell me its a waste...
Or you could cook it up and eat 1g

you can also make cannabis cooking brandy, which is great for adding into things like a christmas pud :)

in my experience, eating raw weed doesnt do shit, but its possible it could get some people high. i always thought maybe your metabolism creates enough heat doing all its digestive work that maybe it can activate THC.

thats my theory anyway...

Hot apple pot dessert

I found the following recipe and I was just curious if they would actually get you high? I mean I only smoke nugs, but don't you have to have some type of fat to extract the thc for your body to break it down efficiently? I didn't think that you could just eat a nugget and get high. Well it sounds tasty either way.

* 4 apples (cored)
* 1/2 cup brown sugar
* 1/4 cup water
* 4 cherries
* 1/3 cup chopped marijuana
* 2 tablespoons cinnamon

Powder the marijuana in a blender, then mix it with sugar and water. Stuff cores with this paste. Sprinkle apples with cinnamon, and top with a cherry. Bake for 25 minutes at 350 degrees

Doesnt baking pure weed evaporate all the THC out of it? Dont you have to turn it into butter/oil first, and then cook with it?

That's why you should be VERY careful speed drying weed, ie..when you pick it off your plant :) mmm...

I know that the eating weed topic has been covered in depth, and I know all about it. I was just curoius if this recipe would work, since it doesn't involve any type of fat or oil. Could someone just give me a yes or no, not a do a search. Thanks guys.

Cooking Weed

I've been wanting to know...
When you toss weed in brownie mix and cook the brownies, does the THC dissolve into the brownies, or are you basically eating raw weed that was put in a brownie?
please don't fuckin reccomend me to erowid I just want a quick answer and this can be closed

whats the point of your question?
yes, the THC does dissolve into the mix, and yes, you are eating the weed that was put into the mix. i wouldnt say the weed is raw, because its being cooked with the brownies.

It depends with what type of weed... but i assume your using buds?

Buds eaten raw doesn't have much effect... i know this coz i once wasted £20 fucking pounds on the stuff. grrrr

I think if you cook it with butter and stuff, the THC does get absorbed and carried into the bloodstream faster.

Correct... you need to make "canabutter", then cook the brownies with this canabutter. If you just throw some nugs in your brownie mix youll be wasting alot of money. It doesnt make much of a difference if you use high-grade weed or schwag, anyone who tells you otherwise is pullen it outa their ass or has been told that. There are alot of good recipes for canabutter out there and i recommend asking the potheads at overgrow for some.

follow this recipe... ejoy.

My method of cooking is as follows... get a 1/4 oz of some GOOD weed... break it down to powder... completely power or as small as you can break it up... get 1 cup of vegitable oil...

pour the cup of vegitable oil into a sauce pan on the stove and apply a medium heat... let the oil get warm and sprinkle your 1/4 in...

gradually raise the heat for the next 10 minutes, stiring constantly so it doesn't burn on the bottom of the pan... when it is done the once yellow oil will be more of a greenish color...

remove from the heat, run your oil trough a coffee filter and discard of the weed, there is no more THC left in it.

Use the oil in your brownie mix just like you would ANY oil... maybe since it's only supposed to be a 1/4 cup of oil, you can add an extra 1/8th cup of the oil anyways...

cook your brownies with the instructions that say: "for fudge-like brownies"

the one which requires more EGG

This way the oil isn't noticable...

you'll kinda be able to taste the ganja, but not really...

2 large brownies will have you passed the fuck out for an entire day... trust me.
