Ok so I've been on and off of heroin for about 3 years. And I live in Pennsylvania, where it comes as white(ish) powder in little bags. I've always dumped the powder into a bottle cap and mixed it up with my cotton and water and then drew it into the rig and injected. However, I'm wondering if anyone who gets it in the powder form cooks it in a spoon before injecting. And if so, does that have any affect for better or worse on the drug?

It shouldn't make a difference. It might make a psychosomatic difference, "oh hell yeah adding heat makes it all dissolve better" but it's already very water soluble, all you'd be doing is allowing cuts to dissolve as well. I never use heat with powder (or tar, for that matter. It just takes longer to dissolve)

Your not cooking out any cuts you actually helping them break down and get into you bloodstream. Opiates are water soluble and dont ever need any heat. The shit left in the spoon with some dope is the cuts that wasnt water soluble. So Never heat, to much heat will even kill some of the potency of the dope if its held on it for to long and gets to a high enough temp. So just crush it first in the spoon and then mix well with water and either user a micron wheel filter if you can get ahold of em. Or just use some cotton to filter it through. But NO heat you just helping the cuts get into the rig.
