Cooking mdma like crack?

SWIM told me that if you have mdma powder that you can mix it with baking soda and cook it just like crack cocaine, and It will come out as mdma rocks. I was just wondering if this could actually be done? I feel as if he is bullshitting but i want to know if its true.
