Cocaine Cooking Crack, quick clarifying question

I've read of many different ways to cook... :\
I only have a few question.

1st does the quantity of baking soda matter too much? I read that the excess powder will not solidify and sink. Should one aim at 1/2 or 2 times the amount of coke?

2nd will the cooking stain the glass pot/beaker?

3rd are ice cubes necessary for cooling or can one simply place the beaker or solution in the freezer?

Any relevant comments or suggestions are welcome, except for those that discourage all crack related inquiries.
 
1 : No it is not critical. 1/1 is OK. If there is no excess soda at the end, add and re-cook to make sure nothing is wasted.
2 : No it won't unless you boil all the water away and scortch your stuff
3: Freezer lasts longer, ice-cube compartment is ideal (but beware of spilling!). Ice-cubes remain the quickest and safest option.
