My friend is a pretty bad alchoholic. Knocks down a fifth of bacardi and a six pack every night! I'm not even gunna mention his breakfast.
Well it seems he has a pretty good supply for most any pharmi [pharmicutical drug](sp)? and I've been pressuring him to pick up a few goodies ;) (xanax,ocs,etc...)
I know all of the risks with mixing OCs and other depressants. Hes not even touching those until he's sober, but im wondering if I should hold on to the benzos to?
Thanx

Are you wondering if its safe to mix benzos and OCs? Anything that is a CNS depressant like a benzo will have a synergy with a oxycontin. So yes, be careful with that just like you would with OCs and alcohol. If your friend is a alcoholic though hes probably gonna get himself addicted to opiates and benzos.

Depending on the user, benzo's and alcohol mix nicely. Taken in the correct dosage this is. A beginner with benzo's will probably get nice and fucked up from 2mg Xanax and a six pack of beer. If your friend is an alcoholic in the true sense, then he oughta watch his benzo intake. From personal experience, I've taken 6mg Xanax along with some alcohol and survived, with no after effects (besides sleeping for 13 hours). This is because I developed quite a tolerance to benzo's, I don't drink all that much. I'm not sure what to say about your friend, since he's got a chronic drinking problem, a lot of alcohol might not effect him as badly while on benzo's. Who knows, I'm not a doctor anyway!

Be careful mixing alcohol and benzos. I once woke up on the kitchen floor at noon not remembering a damn thing after about 9pm the previous night. I had about half a 5th of Jack Daniels and 6 or so temazepams. And I'm a pretty heavy drinker myself. Benzos and alcohol increase the effect of each other.

well, on my birthday weekend I had a wild binge including 7mgs xanax (consumed at once) 3 cases of beer, vodca fifths and about 10 or 12 of my friends. Friday night was the xanies and beer, saturday was the vodca and about 3 or 4 bottles of boonesfarm we managed to obtain from some 15 year old girls party (muhahaha)
but anyways, to make a long story short I didnt die, and I didnt have that much of a benzo tolerance back then. But I still cant remember what happened form about an hour after the xanax went down and when I was arrested late saturday night ;(

Benzos + Alcohol: risk = fairly low - you need to take a LOT of each before you have a risk of respiratory apnea or anything like that..
Benzos + Alcohol: addiction factor = slightly higher then taking one or the other by itself, those that use benzos and alcohol will often get hooked to one or both ..
Benzos + Alcohol: fall on the floor and forget the entire night, wake up 14 hours later in a pool of vomit and alcohol wondering what the hell you did lastnight factor = almost definitie, or at least highly probable .. I can think of a few occassions where I woke up in my own room with cuts on my back and shoulders - NO IDEA WHAT HAPPENED!
I don't think OxyContin was apart of this discussion ..
Anyway, be carefull.. benzos + alcohol go great together, as long as you keep it in moderation and don't let it become adaily thing..
