Contaminated weed warning! [merged]

You know the most annioying thing for me about this... if one of us unfortnatly dies as a consiquens to this shit you know what will go on the report...

Not the fact that some c*** put silica in it. And then the gov' will have another reason to crack down on it. Arsehols need to reed the book 'Splifs' and get some understanding to the culture behind this drug!

A little extreem and unlikely to happen (I hope) but you know where I coming from.

...just thought id clear that up. glass and sand are made of the same thing--both of which can be chewed.

ive found crazy shit in my weed... ive heard of spraying sugar or salt water on nug in order to fake trichromes, but never glass.

...makes sense tho.
 
anecdotal accounts seem to be implying the following chain of events...

Large factory bust in Holland,
growers rushed next batch of cannabis to harvest and did not dry properly, to compensate for the lower yield and to speed drying the harvest was alledegly sprayed with silicate gel (this gel is the globules you sometimes find in plant soil, it absorbs water retaining moisture for plants) this served two functions, one it removed moisture from the surface of the weed and two it increased the weight.

this is approx 6-8 months ago.

it seems likely that the idea of bulking out weed with contaminants has spread and is also happening elsewhere now.
 
Honestly i believe i bought some green like that a while back it was always pre crushed into fine grains and really dry, everytime i made a huge joint while and after i had smoked it i would have what felt like little grains in my mouth when i clenched my teeth together it was like i had sand in my mouth, anyway i stopped smoking it and started buying resin.

Yes melting sand produces glass, but it's so viscous that it wouldn't come off the red hot end as tiny glass beads without an industrial vacuum pump taking a toke.

Would using a bong be the onl safe way of smoking this? Would the beads not just sink to the bottom of the water?

im not saying buy this shit up, by all means DO NOT, but im sure some people have some of this on their hands and dont just want to toss it. could this be a temporary solution for them?
 
No. Only solution is to make a hash oil out of the weed. There's no other.

Its not new really, had a batch in about a year ago that was contaminated with sand, then this glass weed about 6 months ago.

yeah it fucking sucks, why do people do this, it will be some chavs in the reebok jump suit listening to dj rankin thinking there clever with there kilo of weed!

Ha. I highly doubt it, chavs probably don't even know what sand is.
 
Yes this shit is all around europe...
Some Cash croppers cut them weed with all product what you could imagine...You could buy fake trichomes that have no taste and burn well when you smoke it!You have fake weeds even in coffeeshops (who are supposed to sell medicinal weeds) sometimes...The new cutting products comes more and more undetectable...It will be a problem in e few years for sure.
 
Grit Weed

Hey all, im new, so first of all, hello.

As you all know this grit weed is going around, ive now had all three types, Ive had 'Glass weed' / 'Sand Weed' and 'Sugar Weed(glucose)'

This is on a HUGE scale. Many many many people are getting this shit sold to them.

And an FYI....I've read its road paint that is being sprayed on there. Experts say that the glass pieces are too large to be obsorbed into your lungs (I would still be very hesitant to smoke it though...).

An analysis carried out by the French Observatory of Drugs and Drug Addiction found that the glass particles are between 0.02 and 0.3 millimetres across. But Richard Russell, a consultant at Imperial College London, said few particles above 0.015 millimetres would be able to pass into the lungs because they are too big.

"It is likely that they will deposit in the mouth or the throat," said Dr Russell. Here they would most likely pass harmlessly through the system. Using a filter would stop them entering the mouth.

Dr Russell said that smokers should be aware that cannabis smoke causes emphysema, lung inflammation and cancer. "You are likely to do more damage from the marijuana than these particles."
