I like to keep connected to the scene

This is going to be a runoff discussion initiated in the lounge. We thought it would make an interesting topic for this forum.

I can dig this

you can dig it because you and I kept it real and kept it street
and are part of the lineage of a drug culture that can trace itself back to the Harrison Act
or when I was into psychedelics part of a lineage that goes back to Bear and the Acid Tests
whatever the fuck the "drug culture" of a web browser is i will never know
might as well close the "drug culture" forum tbh if we all just buy shit online and do it in our mom's basement

21st century schizoid man
This is precisely the appeal for me.

Q.E.D.

also, speaking of mother's basement
I did, out of morbid curiosity, visit some of these "darkweb" sites
some of the vendors actually discussed getting packages past your parents
this is the apotheosis of cringe and astronomically epic fail

you are taking food out of your local dealer's kid's mouths
and sending money to an email address
how does that make you feel?

If one still buys domestic, whats the difference?

Higher quality at a lower price wins. The possibility of being stabbed being taken out of the equation is also a perk.

Fucking excellent
You send all your money to jack Daniels and Pfizer
How does that make you feel

If one still buys domestic, whats the difference?

your local dealer and someone you have a personal connection to
(or at least a geographic connection to if cold copping at a spot)
potentially someone who cares about a relationship with you
maybe even someone who you can make small talk with etc
versus an email address
a fucking email address

have no particular feelings about that
because they are big corporations
if I could locally source quality booze and meds
I'd do that
i like my eggs straight from the chicken
and my milk straight from the cow, too
but that is not easy to do here in the city

I've done extensive street buying and bought online. I was well connected on the street one of my boys was high up in the game, but even then I think most of my online buys have been of better quality. Depends which drugs but opiates or stimulants are better quality online. Weed I still buy on the street and pills/MDMA will never be as good as they were 10+ years ago on the street, fuck I miss those days :(

There are still local suppliers with customers from around the world. The economics haven't changed, the social paradigm has.

I don't really like to make small talk and hang out with drug dealers unless they're friends anyway.

Q.E.D.

This internet thing might be good for a laugh but its all about that personal touch

Maybe if every dealer you had wanted to put it in your ass
You might feel differently.

but I'm not talking about the experience of the end user
I'm talking about the effect of the economics of the scene
and WAL*MART crushing your local grocery store

There are still local suppliers with customers from around the world. The economics haven't changed, the social paradigm has.

no the economics have changed a great deal
getting drugs and quality drugs used to be a matter of having a connection
now it is a matter of having an email address
this "elimination of market inefficiencies," "disruption"
all that silicon valley bullshit
has baleful consequences for a lot of people

I don't really like to make small talk and hang out with drug dealers unless they're friends anyway.

me neither
but I'm just saying
human being vs email address

This internet thing might be good for a laugh but its all about that personal touch

my brother

Fuck man the scene is half the fun!

a man after my own heart here

I miss buying weed and coke in the parking lot of the red apple
meeting the dominicans from washington heights at the greyhound bus
and having them throw you a bundle to drive them to the holiday in
then getting work from them and taxing the shit out of it to country bumpkins
or getting together some cash from friends and making the trip down to the city to cut out the middleman
making the rounds of the local trailer park on prescription refill day
that time of the year when the outdoor harvest came in
that fucking nostalgic feel
now you do that through a screen

And did anyone who really wanted to do drugs simply live their lives without finding a contact? Point being, the change in local market share is probably pretty minimal, if it hasn't grown even. The method of distribution has only changed in variety, it hasn't vanished. There's still a local supply for people who want to mingle with dope dealers on the street and an option for those who don't.

Like I said, options, man. Different strokes and all that jazz. Do you score on the internet or locally? If you still score locally, then what's the problem?

Well, I don't score at all anymore, and yes, local supply still exists, but a lot of the small time local guys, not the vertically integrated heroin crews or whatever, I mean the small businesses who yes, maybe copped via Internet when it was still a private and more tight-knit community there, they are probably getting trouble because of the wide-open internet shit. Especially people dealing more boutique stuff (i.e. not coke, dope, weed) to a more discerning clientèle who is more likely to try the internet thing, these are the people who are getting hurt and that's the problem.

@SLK the local grocery store? I don't know what kind of drug dealers you've been using. Some of mine were my mates but IMO what's important is getting clean drugs that are worth the money which I am paying. Are you based in the U.S? If so surely the "local grocery store" was already being run as a Walmart franchise anyway with the way the Mexicans have changed things over there?

Not trying to pick an argument I am genuinely curious, as I am from the UK, not U.S. Here your drugs arrive the next day most of the time and the quality is usually double the potency for less money. Dealers everywhere are liars I do not trust them IRL or online. Apart from my weed guys.

that depends, west coast is a lot more vertically integrated than east coast which is still vertically integrated to a degree when copping in a major city
but as said above I am particularly talking about boutique stuff
but who buys heroin, cocaine or pot online as these are easily acquired IRL in most areas?

but again I'm not really talking about impact on the end user
