As I move away from the doors
of the theater, this boy, Connor,
briefly leaves the hand of his mother
as he walks through a circle
carved into the pavement.
He begins to dance, careful that his feet stay
within the bounds of the circle, arms and legs
entranced by a sound humming at a frequency
distinct to the dimensions of his ears.
He spins in the center, and leaps
holding nearly horizontal
in the air;
perhaps seconds passes before his momentum
dissolved, and he fell to the ground
like a pole loosed from its awning.
It seemed like any motion around
held still when he stepped up
with only a slight pause shrugging
a few streaks of dust from his trousers.
And he walked back toward his mother,
who glanced with bewilderment at me
as I trailed behind, stepping
with ambivalence and wondering
what notes could be hiding
from my ears.

Wow Andy! That was very cool! It takes a very perceptive eye to notice the displays given by the Connors of the world, but an even more perceptive mind to acknowledge the beauty of their internal soundtrack!
:D
