Conflicting results with lab testing

Hi everyone. My bf and I had some E pills earlier last month in July. When he got them from the supplier, who tested them in front of him, my bf confirmed to me that the pills turned black. I'm not sure which test kit was used. However, just out of curiosity I tried looking up the pill on Dancesafe and EcstacyData, and it looked like there was a test result of the same pill from about six months before we purchased them, the date on the websites for their lab tests were from January. Same city, same look, plain pill with no logo, everything looked the same as the pills we had.
However, in the lab test on the websites, it said there was no Marquis reaction, and the lab came up with no active ingredients. I find this strange. The pills look exactly the same, same city, but six months later, but the lab results said there was nothing in them, meanwhile our test came back black and there was definitely something in them, my bf and I had some effects. It was our first time doing E so I'm not totally sure if it felt like it would normally on MDMA. I had visuals, catatonia, shakes, couldn't sleep and felt quite depressed for about a week afterwards.
So I'm confused with the conflicting information from the website and the test that we did ourselves. Any ideas? Perhaps they were different pills even though it was the exact same as the picture, a plain pill, same city, etc? Thanks.

Well first up you shouldn't let other people test for you, especially the person who is selling you the pills. They have a vested interest in making sure you see what you want to see. I could think of a dozen ways if faking a test like that if had time to prepare before hand.
As for the description of the pill, we are talking about plain pills with no logo on them... I mean I'm sure they did look the same, but did you measure them to check the dimensions on ecstasydata? One trick that dealers have finding plain pills of some generic medicine that look the same as plain pills that do contain MDMA, and interchanging them. This isn't exactly a secret trick, it was in that lame movie "Go" ferchrisake :)
Now that all said (and I don't mean to sound harsh, I'm just decribing the realities of the situation) your description of the effects does sound somewhat like you did take MDxx of some kind. You obviously didn't have a great time considwering the way you phrased it, but they would seem to be side effects of MDxx, particularly to the inexperienced. Actually you only listed bad effects, do you have any poisitie ones from that night to describe?
So I guess I'm saying that you may well have taken MDxx, and that chances are the pill on the site was different to the ones you had. Even if you hadn't had MDxx you still have had some sort of powerful substance, which would have shown up on the lab tests one way or the other, meaning the two pills must ne of different types.
If you had told the same story and described the pills as "Yellow Triangles" there might be a chance for more mystery, but with plain, no logo pills there's no real mystery here at all.
And please, buy your own tester and do your own testing. Chances are in this case the dealer wasn't trying to ripp you off, but he could have. The only way to be sure is to test yourself, and get practiced at looking for the subtlties of the reactions...

As you're new to pilling, be aware that it is normal for there to be a few pressing of the same pill around, so make decisions based on the test results you see with your own eyes, never make decisions based solely on reports on the internet. Often people will get good mdxx pills, and a couple of weeks later get "identical" pills that turn out to contain completely different ingredients. Some people test every single pill of the same kind (bought together), as sometimes even pills bought in the same batch can have different contents.

Well, we most definitely will be buying our own testers in the future, this was our first time having E though, so we know that for the future. My bf does trust the person he got the pills from though, he's known him for years, been friends with him for a long time, even though this was our first time getting anything from him. But yes I agree it is smart to get our own testers.
As for the experience, I didn't mean to make it sound like it was all bad. It was actually quite nice for the first few hours, tactile sensations and the visuals were nice too, everything seemed more beautiful. I only had one hallucination towards the end of the night, and the visuals I had earlier in the night, I simply meant halos around candles, glowstick trailers, that sort of thing. Keep in mind this was my first time doing a drug, so I'm not real sure what other visuals one can get, but this is what I got. I also got a bit of auditory hallucination in my hearing tunnelling a few times. I'm not sure exactly if I got any of the empathic qualities, my bf said he did, but we never did much talking, since we spent more of the night just cuddling and listening to music and such. I think I may have had empathic qualities if I'd let them come through instead of concentrating on the music and everything else, but there's always next time.
My bad reactions were later in the night. Keep in mind as well, that my bf and I were both none too smart and took 5 pills that night, over the course of 12 hours or so, but I do think that if I kept it to 1 or 2 as I should have then I wouldn't have had the bad reactions later on as I did, especially since as I explained they happened more towards the end of the night. Live and learn, and next time I'll only be taking one. More than that is a waste of money and of the experience.
Comparing the pills I got to the website, I never did get a chance to check the dimensions no. I never even knew that pill was on the net before until just tonight when I looked more carefully for it. It just looked exactly as mine did, the picture, and it was from the same city I got mine in a month ago even though the report was from six months ago. So I was suprised when the lab report (the pic was from a lab report, not just a pill report any Joe Blow can submit) said it had no active ingredient, since mine obviously had something in it.
Btw, what's the mystery with Yellow Triangle pills? Mine weren't, they were plain speckled pills, but just wondering. Thanks for your thoughts!

I do agree with this. Like I said my bf saw his friend who sold him the pills test them before he brought them home, and he said they turned black. I only found the lab report today, and I did the pills over a month ago. I just found it strange that what looked to be the exact same pill tested black to us, and obviously had something in it from the effects we got, and then the lab report for what looked like the exact pill in the exact city only six months ago said had no test reaction and lab tested as no active ingredient. Again, it wasn't a pill report from just some Joe Blow, apparently it was lab tested, I guess sent to the Netherlands through Dancesafe, as this was on EcstacyData and Dancesafe lab testing sites both.
I agree it is a good idea as well to test every pill. I'm researching different types of testers, I even think it's a good idea to get two different types of testers to make sure that you get the most amount of coverage possible. I think the best combination would be EZ Test Xtreme and Mecke reagent as well to get most coverage, am I right? Thanks for your input.

Corona: no, no, I was just using "Yellow Triangles" as an example of a pill logo, meaning that the chances of two pills from the same town with the same logo being that different would be slim, but that two plain, logoless pills are much more likely to contain different substances, as they may look very simililar, but be completely different.
I's say from your description you probably did have MDxx, probably MDMA, and would agree that the ill effects you felt were probably compounded by the amount you took. 5 pills is excessive, especially for a beginner. There is always the temptation to redose once the intitial peak has seemed to pass. Just wait and give it time and you'll usually find that more peaks happen, and the gentle slope into normality is just as enjoyable.
You are correct in your assessment of the best kit for yourself. The combination of Xtreme (Marquis, Simon's and Robadope) and Mecke will give you the ability to identify most of the major adulterants commonly found in North America.
Always start with Marquis, and if you get a clear reaction you know there is nothing good in the pill. This doesn't mean it's safe, but you've already established whether or not there is an active substance. A pill with no active substance detectable by Marquis is NOT ecstasy, by any definition.
If you get a purple/black reaction you shoud then go on to use the other kits, probably using the Mecke next to clear up if the black reaction is DXm or MDxx. You can usually tell this just from the Marquis, but until you've had some practice seeing the difference it's best to just use the Mecke to be sure.

you took five pills your first time? crazy!
it sounds like mdma, but the unpleasant effects would have been because you took way too much for your first time...
next time just start off with one, and increase if you fell you need to. if you're rolling fine, more pills may just make you feel worst or have no effect at all, and that's a waste!
